Wayfinder Kyros Tips

With patience and practice, Kyros can quickly rise above the ranks to become the most powerful class in Wayfinder. He uses magic to decimate his enemies. So, some may think of Kyros as your everyday war mage. However, Kyros packs plenty of raw power, enough to wipe out an entire army. He doesn’t always need to be a part of a team; rather, you can use him solo and still rely on his abilities to keep you alive.

Despite Kyros’ overwhelming strength, he can take a while to get used to it. He has a neat string of abilities, some more useful than others. He can also deal devastating damage from a safe distance, sending out massive shockwaves and blasts of raw, mystical arcane energy that destroy his enemies with ease.

To effectively use Kyros on the battlefield, whether solo or in group play, here are the Wayfinder: best Kyros tips to make the most of all he has to offer.

5. Know the Tools at Your Disposal

Kyros possesses a raw mystical power he uses to strike enemies down from afar. He can siphon arcane energy from enemies and convert it into massive shockwaves that lay waste to every foe within range. While Kyros' powers are elemental, not every one of them is as reliable and useful on the battlefield. Knowing all of Kyros’ abilities and learning when to use each one is crucial to surviving Wayfinder

Let’s take a look at Kyros’ skills and abilities below.

Skills

Savage Rake – When Kyros uses Savage Rake, he “rakes” the ground with deadly energy, dealing devastating damage to all enemies in front of you.

Siphon Radiant – Kill two birds with one stone using Siphon Radiant. It casts a blast of energy around Kyros, which deals immense damage to all enemies within range. Simultaneously, Siphon Radiant siphons arcane energy from enemies, which fuels his next attacks. This helps to drastically reduce cooldowns while also giving you an Arcane Fragment (see below).

Arcane Focus – Allows Kyros to mark enemies close to him. The more successful hits you make on marked enemies, the more the mark increases in power. Upon reaching maximum power or after a span of eight seconds, it detonates, dealing damage equal to the power build-up.

Hand of Reckoning – Deals devastating AoE damage to all enemies around you within a larger radius.

Passive Skills

Arcane Fragments – Kyros’ passive ability has a very specific purpose – to grant Savage Rake extra charges for a more devastating effect. To gain Arcane Fragments, you’ll need to use Siphon Radiant. Each time you use Siphon Radiant, Kyros gains an Arcane Fragment. Alternatively, you can practice landing successful combo finishers for extra Arcane Fragments, or get them from ability upgrades.

Signature Weapon

Epitaph – Kyros’ Epitaph is a two-handed scythe that revels in drawing on the essence of its enemies and spilling their blood.

Arcane Harvest (Weapon Ability) – With Arcane Harvest, you can use Epitaph to perform a spinning splash that deals AoE damage and siphons ability power from enemies. Each time you steal ability power, your Epitaph scythe’s power spikes up.

4. Use Arcane Fragments to Cast Savage Rake at No Cost

SAVAGE RAKE wayfinder

On its own, Savage Rake is a powerful arcane ability that can dismantle enemy forces in front of you. For that reason, it tends to be the go-to skill for most players whenever they choose Kyros as their front-runner in battle. However, using Savage Rake comes at a cost. You need to wait to buff Savage Rake until it’s ready to use. Only when Savage Rake is fully charged does it deal the most violent and devastating damage possible.

So, to make sure that you can easily access Savage Rake and deal the most damage at the same time, you’ll want to consume Arcane Fragments every so often. You can gain Arcane Fragments by using Siphon Radiant as often as possible. Each time you use Siphon Radiant, you earn an Arcane Fragment. You can also gain Arcane Fragments from landing successful combo finishers and from ability upgrades.

3. Keep a Safe Distance

Kyros does have some melee damage capabilities. However, he excels the most when he keeps a safe distance from enemies. So, why not optimize distance to survive?

Using Savage Rake, you can cast violent energy at enemies in front of you. The blast will travel for a decent distance, allowing you to remain at a safe distance.

2. Take Down Groups of Enemies with AoE Attacks

When dealing ranged damage, there are times when you may come across groups of enemies that can quickly advance toward you with little warning. To avoid becoming overwhelmed by groups of enemies on the battlefield, make sure to utilize powerful abilities that deal a generous AoE damage output.

For instance, you can use Savage Rake to deal reliable AoE attacks that can easily wipe out groups of enemies. Alternatively, you can use Hand of Reckoning to deal an even more powerful damage output within a larger radius.

1. Skill Priority

It’s possible to upgrade Kyros’ abilities further into your playthrough. However, you’ll need to prioritize certain abilities as they prove more powerful with Kyros’ hand. So, how do you prioritize skill progression? Well, here’s a quick guideline for you.

With Kyros, you’ll find yourself using Savage Rake more than his other abilities. That’s because it’s a highly powerful skill that can take down hordes of enemies while keeping you at a safe distance. So, your first priority is to upgrade Savage Rake to level two.

Then, upgrade Siphon Radiant all the way to level three. This will help reduce the cooldowns when using Savage Rake while still dealing damage to enemies within range. Lastly, upgrade Savage Rake to level three to achieve the most powerful blast possible while also gaining the ability to heal Kyros upon every successful enemy hit.
