10. God of War: Ragnarok

PS owners often remember the entry in the God of War series pioneering cross-generation release in the series. God of War: Ragnarok launched in 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The sequel marks the ninth installment in the series and a sequel to 2018’s God of War.

The game is very similar to the prequel. However, this entry comes with a variety of new enemy types, and mini-bosses. Players also have a control camera with an over-the-shoulder view, making the gameplay much more rewarding.

As the tenth entry in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Village is undoubtedly a top pick on PS. The game's main focus is on combat. In fact, combat feels like the least you can do, if not all. 

When your daughter is kidnapped and you are forced to find her in a mutant, creature-filled world, what other options do you have? Pick your best armor and weapons, and march forth into the treacherous journey to save your daughter while defeating all adversaries in your way.

8. Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker

Endwalker came as the fourth expansion of Final Fantasy XIV, the 2021 multiplayer online role-playing game from Square Enix. However, it follows the events after the swarm’s extinction, assigning players as Aloy, a hunter cast in a land of animalistic machines.  Your duty is to explore and complete quests armed with melee and ranged weapons to smash the hostile robots.

The game mimics Dark Souls and Bloodborne’s open-world setting, where players explore the land’s interesting dark-hole scars. Players will always love the Elden Ring’s exaltation from exploring the linear and hidden dungeons on Torrent or in fast travel.

Grill unforgettable characters, unravel mystery murders or become a millionaire, pocketing bribes to eventually become the hero or the city’s untold disaster. 

4. Deathloop

Immerse yourself in a timed first-person shooter gameplay with Deathloop. It is an award-winning title from Arkane Lyon that reminisces about the developer’s previous games like Prey and Dishonored in its gameplay.

Playing as Colt, the assassin, you will use a mix of guns, stealth, gadgets, powers, and attack skills to take out the Visionaries on Blackreef Island. The enemies are a group of eight targets whom you must kill before midnight. Should the time lapse before they are all dead or you die before taking them out, you restart the gameplay at the beginning of the time loop.

You play as this high school kid codenamed Joker. In the new school, Joker and his peers awaken to a newfound power that enables them to rob malevolent intentions from people’s hearts and alter them. But that doesn’t happen without some epic showdowns. The Joker and his party encounter foes, known as Shadows, whom they battle in their mythical avatars, the Personas.

Final Fantasy 7 was an enriching game right from the original installations. And for those who’ve maintained a count of every franchise, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sets itself apart with its immersive gameplay.
