Gameplay:

If you die, you’ll be brought back to life like an endless time loop, but your ultimate mission is to put a stop to the ongoing saga. Developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks,” the islands inhabitants hate your guts and before the day resets by midnight, Colt, (as the playable character) has to take out 8 key targets. The 8 key targets are known as the “Visionaries,” in charge of continuing the loop. Take out the rival Julianna, (who is lurking in the shadows) or be a victim to the continuation of the chaotic time loop.

The same developers that brought you the award-winning “Dishonored” first announced the mysterious, action game back in 2019. Originally, “Deathloop” was set for a 2020 holiday launch, but Arkane Lyon decided to delay it, back in August. Now, “Deathloop” will be released on May 21, 2021.

DEATHLOOP - Official Gameplay Reveal Trailer | PS5

Game Director, Dinga Bakaba mentioned in an in an interview with GamesRadar “the campaign is kind of like a puzzle.” Another key point he mentioned was that “Deathloop” is “more of a puzzle than what we did before. Although there is one solution to the overarching puzzle, each and every situation can be approached in a variety of ways.”

In “the gameplay, the environment is gloomy with graffiti on the walls, neon lit buildings, and parked cars you can hide behind, to sneak up on enemies. If someone tries to harm your weapons like a knife or gun. You’re even introduced to a gun for each hand where you can take action in your own hands like a professional. Use a sniper mode on roofs to carefully target enemies, jump off of balconies, and more. Enemies will fly from the ceiling like ninjas and you have to be observational, fast.

What makes the game much more valuable is that there’s a PvP element added. In the PvP element, you can play as the villains, but while you play as the villains to take out other characters, Colt, the hero can be taken out. You have to be swift, always thinking about if you should exit out of your character to control another. With such an option, there’s obvious advantages and disadvantages, which makes it an exciting gameplay. Turn off PvP and Julianna (only targeting Colt) will hunt you, controlled by an AI.

In addition, Colt has supernatural abilities known as Slabs. Currently, we know about four of his different powers. Colt has a cloaking power known as Aether, Telekinesis, Masquerade (where you can be at any other form on the island), and the power to shift. With such powers, it comes in handy to take out foes before midnight. You won’t be up against a clock as you try to take out the foes, but will be provided with four districts to go to and explore at your leisure.
