Stellar Blade: Best Games Like Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade is an action-adventure RPG that has taken the gaming community by storm, despite being relatively new. Its highlights include a captivating female protagonist, lots of action, and an intriguing story that makes the gaming experience immersive. It is based on a post-apocalyptic world overrun with monsters and an inquisitive female warrior tasked with destroying them.

The game offers about 30 hours of thrilling gameplay, which only leaves players longing for more similar action. Fortunately, there are many other games that share many aspects with this game and deliver an equally thrilling gaming experience. The following ten games, like Stellar Blade, are excellent for keeping fun going.

10. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst

Mirror's Edge Catalyst Walkthrough Gameplay Part 1 - Faith (PS4 Xbox One)

The similarities between Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and Stellar Blade include a female protagonist, a futuristic world setting, and a semi-open world gameplay style. The world in this game is not in a post-apocalyptic disaster and even features shiny buildings. However, humanity’s freedom is under siege by corporations, and Faith, the female protagonist, is on a mission to uncover the conspiracy and free humanity.

The game features lots of action in the main story campaign and side quests. Moreover, the story features lots of twists and turns, as the conspiracy runs far and deep, making it engaging.

9. Soulstice

Soulstice Review "Buy, Wait for Sale, Never Touch?"

Soulstice is set in a past medieval world but still shares many similarities with Stellar Blade. For starters, it features two female protagonists on a mission to save the world. Additionally, it features monstrous creatures bent on destroying and corrupting humans. It also features intense hand-and-slash action, pitting the two female warriors against various enemy classes. Notably, its story is its best feature and involves hidden mysteries and unexpected twists.

8. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Official Launch Trailer | PS4

Most notably, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is set in 1500s Japan. Moreover, the protagonist is male. However, this game’s combat mechanics have many striking similarities to the latter.

The bosses are quite formidable and require a strategic approach involving parrying attacks, counterattacks, and precise timing. Additionally, the hero often needs to sneak up on his enemies, mirroring Stellar Blade’s stealth mechanics. The story is also quite engaging, albeit not set on a grand, worldwide scope.

7. Returnal

RETURNAL | Secrets & Important Tips You Need To Know (Returnal Tips and Tricks)

Returnal is another action-packed RPG starring a female protagonist. Selina, a space explorer, crashed on an alien planet with shape-shifting environments and menacing monsters. She must fight her way through the perplexing world while fighting dangerous monsters to reach an ancient civilization. Interestingly, this game’s combat mechanics are more advanced than Stellar Blade’s, featuring sophisticated weapons. However, the bosses are quite difficult to beat.

6. Bloodborne

Bloodborne Walkthrough Gameplay Part 1 - Prologue (PS4)

Like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Bloodborne appears quite different from Stellar Blade on the surface but shares many similar combat mechanics. Notably, the bosses are difficult to kill, and getting overwhelmed is common. To this end, players need to strategize their attacks to win the fights, inspiring them to kill their enemies in diverse styles. The game also features a semi-open world, allowing players to explore. Interestingly, Bloodborne offers twice the gameplay hours of Stellar Blade.

5. Rise of the Ronin

Rise of the Rōnin - Before You Buy

Rise of the Ronin’s combat mechanics closely resemble Stellar Blade’s. Additionally, the story is deep and features many twists and turns, playing out like a movie. However, this is where the similarities end. The differences are convenient, though. They offer an interesting break from the latter’s linear and often repetitive structure, enabling players to explore the vast and detailed open world. Moreover, you can play many side quests and challenges to complement the main campaign.

4. Scarlet Nexus

Scarlet Nexus - Before You Buy

Scarlet Nexus is set in a far-distant future. However, while the world is not in a post-apocalyptic condition, the ongoing events threaten to make it so. The cause of all this is the discovery of a psionic hormone hidden in the brain, which enables people to have extra-sensory powers. The hormone is valuable not only to humans but also to alien monsters dubbed ‘Others.’

The Others fall from the sky and are immune to conventional attacks. However, two heroes, male and female protagonists, have special powers to contain the onslaught and save humanity.

3. Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition - Launch Trailer | PS5

Devil May Cry 5 is a game about a futuristic world invaded by demonic monsters. The game’s hack-and-slash combat mechanics are similar to Stellar Blade’s. Moreover, the monsters in this game are formidable and malevolent, like the monsters in Stellar Blade. To this end, it delivers high-octane action, and you can play three different characters with varying combat styles.

However, the game differs from Stellar Blade in a few welcome ways. Notably, the main protagonist is male. Additionally, the combat is more combo-focused because of the multiple characters.

2. Bayonetta 3

First Look at Bayonetta 3 Gameplay – Nintendo Switch

Like Stellar Blade, Bayonetta 3 features an elegant yet deadly female protagonist with an intriguing background story fighting to save the world all by herself. However, Bayonetta is not from a sci-fi future. She is an ancient being that has been in hibernation for 500 years. More precisely, she is the only survivor of a clan of witches that maintains a balance between light and darkness, thereby preventing chaos. She has only one memory of her past after she is revived.

However, her reappearance causes catastrophic consequences as demonic monsters invade the world. Bayonetta must vanquish the demons while learning the truth about her past.

1. NieR: Automata

Nier: Automata Review | The Masterpiece You (Probably) Won't Play

While NieR: Automata doesn’t feature a female protagonist, many other elements are eerily similar to Stellar Blade. For starters, its plot is about a future in which humanity fights to regain their planet from invaders. Additionally, the story is complex and involves long-forgotten and hidden truths about the world’s past. Finally, the gameplay is based on an open world and boasts excellent graphics. However, the invaders are mechanical robots, not fleshy monsters, but the fights are still intense. Moreover, the heroes are Android robots, not humans.
