Saints Row 5 Has Officially Been Teased For Gamescom 2021

Saints Row V could be right around the corner, according to a recent tweet made by Geoff Keighley, who will be hosting this year's Gamescom showcase.

It's been six years since the 3rd Street Saints graced our screens with absolute carnage, and fans have just about started to feel the hunger for another round as “The Boss”, bundled with even more unruly antics across Steelport.

The good news is, with the recent tweet practically painting it in black and white (or royal purple in this case), the Saints will be making a return. And although some would assume a reboot would entail a rehash of one of the original games, the official handle for the series has, in fact, confirmed that it will be a “whole new game” and not a remaster of one of the four originals.

The Saints are back!

Although failing to confirm whether or not the next game will be Saints Row 5, we can only put our money on it being the case. Or, failing that, then a spin-off or sorts, sort of like Gat Out Of Hell, which released back in 2015. But who knows. In this instance, only Gamescom will be able to shed light on its conception, which goes ahead this coming Wednesday.

That's really all there is to share for the time being. The Saints are back, and we honestly couldn't be happier to see them return to the helm. Deep Silver are putting the cogs in motion, and next-gen players will soon enough be able to bask in the insanity that the franchise has built for itself. The question is: how else can the Saints evolve after the fourth instalment? After all, ascending to presidential status and conquering an entire alien species, there certainly is a lofty task on the dev's hands for the next chapter. Still, it's one we can't wait to watch rise to fruition over the coming years. “Go 3rd Street!”

Gamescom 2021 streams on Wednesday 25th at 11 am PT.
