Persona 4 Golden is an absolute gem of a JRPG. Players can now enjoy this timeless classic in a whole new way. This is through the remaster of the game. This is wonderful as it allows many players that wouldn't have played the game otherwise to enjoy it. The game is also part of the Xbox Game Pass, giving it an even broader appeal. So without further ado, here are 5 Reasons You Should Play Persona 4 Golden.

5. Enjoy the Added Content

There is a ton of added content in the remaster. For example, there are several dungeons and different characters, all new to the game. This will give players who experienced Persona 4  another reason to pick up the game as it will be content that they themselves haven't played through before. But that isn't all the game has added, far from it. The game also adds new Personas, which are sure to affect moment-moment gameplay in a strong way.

Players can even utilize the Social Link system to gain access to extremely powerful late-game Personas if they put in the work. This would require players to max out their social standing with a character in order to gain this immense power. For example, maxing out the Aeon Social Link will give players access to a new dungeon in the game known as the Hollow Forest. This is great as it incentivizes players to complete as much as they can of the game. All in all, the added content in this game is a welcome addition that players should definitely take advantage of.

4. New Characters

Characters are at the heart of what makes the Persona games so great. So it is a fantastic choice by the developers to add more characters for the player to befriend and gain the power of. The new additions include Marie, who is another inhabitant of The Velvet Room, and Tohru Adachi, the representative of the Jester in the game. TI should be noted. However, that access to Tohru can only be done at specific times in the nights and days of June. So players looking to access this character will have to make a note of this and plan accordingly if they want to obtain them.

These new characters also come with new Personas in the game. This is fantastic as it gives the game more variety overall. Players will be able to familiarize themselves with these new additions throughout their playthroughs. This means that, ultimately, there is more content to enjoy for the player. For this reason, new characters are a welcome addition to the game and open up a new realm of possibilities for players to enjoy their playthrough of Persona 4 Golden.

3. New Story Events & Epilogue

For those players who want to put the work in to get the most story content out of the game. Persona 4 Golden doesn't disappoint. Players will be able to access new story events throughout the game, which makes the game more replayable for those who have already played Persona 4. That isn't where this stops, however, as players will also be able to enjoy a different epilogue. This epilogue serves as a fantastic conclusion to the game.

The game's new epilogue can be accessed by completing the Hollow Forest dungeon after maxing out your Social Link with Aeon. This will give the players more to do in the game. This is great, leading up to a great experience as they strive to complete the game. So if players want to put their time toward unlocking this content, it will be well worth it. To summarize, opening the new story events and epilogue for the game allows players to unlock more content. In a game that is already packed to the brim with things to do.

2. Changes to the Battle System

Changing the battle system for the remaster was a stroke of genius. Players who have played the following Persona games, such as Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal, will note how much better the combat in those games feels. This means that it makes sense that the developers would want to replicate this feeling when bringing us the remaster of Persona 4 Golden. Furthermore, the addition of team-up attacks has dramatically affected the game's combat in a positive way.

This isn't the only change either, as now stat buffs and debuffs can be stacked and typically last longer than in the original game. There has also been a change in how players receive rewards after a battle, which has led to players receiving more items overall. In summary, the changes to the battle system may take a while for Persona 4 faithful to get used to. But they make an excellent way for newer players to get into the game and experience its world.

1. The Addition of Achievements

Players who have played Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal will know just how massive many of its achievements are. The addition of these achievements to Persona 4 Golden means that players will now be able to track their accomplishments. This can now be done in a way that is easy and intuitive to the player. There is a multitude of tasks for players to complete. Helping the longevity of the player's playtime with the game. Players wishing to reach for the competition will have their hands full with this achievement list, which is a great thing. For all of those completionists out there, this will give them a broader list of things to do and be more open about requirements for completion.

The addition of achievements also means that players will be able to enjoy the game they love with added content. Furthermore, players will be able to track down the means of unlocking these achievements and strive for them. This will make for a better experience overall, as players will have active goals to work toward. In closing, the addition of achievements within Persona 4 Golden is a testament to how much achievements affect our playthroughs of games. Although some of the requirements may be a little tedious, such as hearing all of the character voice lines in the game, we look forward to it.
