Itch.io’s Indie Bundle Abortion Funds Offers over 750 Games for $10
Itch. io is back, using video games to undo evil and do good in the world. If you haven't heard, on June 24th, 2022, the US Supreme Court decided to overturn Roe v. Wade, the decision that defined the constitutional right to abortion. Well, the open marketplace for independent digital creators, known as Itch. io is doing what it can to provide relief, through an Indie Bundle for Abortion Funds. For just $10 the bundle includes a collection of over 750 indie games, soundtracks, comics, and more.
While $10 is the minimum for the bundle you are encouraged to donate more. In total, the bundle is delivering content from over 600+ creators, valued at roughly $3,000. That is in no doubt a steal, but it's also effectively doing good through gaming, which is something we can all stand by.
All proceeds from the bundle will go to the National Network for Abortion Fund's Collective Power Fund. Which essentially provides abortion funds across 20+ U.S. states, with a major focus on the South and Midwest (Typically the hardest states to get access to abortion). The bundle will run until July 13th, with a fundraising goal of $50,000, which appears to have already been surpassed by a mere $20,000. Let us not stop there, because more funds raised will undoubtedly further benefit those affected by the Roe v. Wade decision.

Using Gaming to Bring Change
This also isn't the first time we've seen Itch.io take action to implement change. The independent platform came together in March to offer a similar bundle in support of Ukraine, in light of the country's ongoing conflict with Russia – which is still persisting to this day. We've seen other notable gaming companies address troubling events around the world in a variety of ways, but not on the same scale as Itch.io. Effectively this way, with each purchase of the bundle, you'll be directly providing relief to those being affected by the Roe v. Wade decision.
