Itch.io Is Supporting Ukraine by Offering a $10 Indie Gaming Bundle with 992 Products

Updated on

The open marketplace for independent digital creators known as itch.io is showing massive support to Ukraine through a gaming bundle. All the funds from the sale will be donated to charity, with half going to International Medical Corps for medical aid. The other half will be going to Voices of Children, a Ukrainian organization that helps children cope with the horrors of war and PTSD. At the time of this post, itch.io is just $50,000 short of its $2M goal. It is very likely the platform will surpass that goal and with our help, can smash it.

Here is what itch.io had to say about their bundle:

“The people of Ukraine are under attack. As game developers we want to create new worlds, not to destroy the ones we have. That's why we've banded together to present this charity bundle to help Ukrainians survive this ordeal and thrive after the war ends.”

The bundle has contributions from over 733 different creators totaling a whopping 992 games. The game bundle is being offered for $10 but holds an estimated value of over $6,000. Of course, you are welcome to contribute more with some people donating thousands of dollars. The bundle can be found here and will be offered until March 17.

The bundle is hosted by Necrosoft Games whose director, Brandon Sheffield took to Twitter for the announcement.

The bundle is not just limited to games. It also includes over 300 tabletop RPGs, dozens of asset packs, books, music, comics, and zines. What's also unique to this bundle is that none of the products included in the bundle are free. They are all paid products from creators who have bound together to support Ukraine through their war crises.

I think this is not only hugely supportive of Ukraine but is a staple for what the video game community stands for. Video games have always been a safe place for gamers. It has granted us the ability to make new friends, cope with our emotions, and feel a part of a community. By coming together and supporting this initiative we can help the Ukrainian people through these dire times.
