Dead Island 2: All Playable Characters, Ranked

 on

Dead Island 2 is a game that blew up rather quickly. This is due to its solid gameplay, as well as its sandbox approach. The game features a total of six characters for players to choose from. Three of these characters are male, and three are female, each with their own abilities. That being said, clearly some stand above others. And today, we are going to compare these characters as well as rank them. So without further ado, here is Dead Island 2: All Playable Characters, Ranked.

6. Carla

For players who wish to have a bit of an easier time, Carla is a great pick. This is due to the fact that Carla comes equipped with a ridiculously high resilience rate. Which effectively makes her much more durable in combat. This is great for players who are just learning the drops of the game. But that is hardly the only thing she has to offer players as well. For players who often find themselves being swarmed by multiple zombies, Carla has a passive ability to assist with this.

The ability is called Mosh Pit and allows her to do a bit more damage. Added to this, is the fact ath Carla also gets a bonus for her health and resilience when her health is low, and you have a character that can survive well. This is great, as often in Dead Island 2 you might find yourself overwhelmed by enemies at key moments. But with Carla, players will be able to get themselves out of several sticky situations using her abilities.

5. Amy

Next up on our list of the best Dead Island 2 characters, we have Amy. Amy is a character that much like Carla, has quite a bit of resilience, but the area in which she specializes is Agility. This is great for Amy, as it essentially means she is much better at dodging and evading enemies. This can come in real handy when a player wants to simply make a quick escape, or needs to use their agility to their advantage. Another fantastic strategy to use with Amy is to isolate your targets. This can be done in several ways, but she has a bonus to damaging isolated targets.

So if you can, try and pick up pieces of the zombie horde one by one with Amy, and you should find great success. It is for their versatility and agility that Amy takes up this spot on our list.

4. Ryanbest mods and perks

Our next entry is one that has quite a few uses but is great for newcomers to the Dead Island franchise. Ryan is one of Dead Island 2‘s most beginner-friendly characters. This can be seen in his abilities, which focus heavily on health regeneration as well as many other perks that make him easier to use. For example, Ryan's Seesaw ability allows him to recover some health after knocking enemies down, which is great for making it out of difficult situations. This makes Ryan great for blocking, and several of his other abilities back this up as well. These include things such as bonuses to his toughness when blocking as well as damage boosts. This well-rounded kit allows Ryan to be a great all-arounder. So if you haven't tried playing through Dead Island 2 as Ryan, then he is a pretty solid choice overall, for players old and new.

3. JacobDead Island 2 First Week Sales

In short, Jacob is one of the best Dead Island 2 characters to use. This is in no small part due to his immense health pool. Starting off with the most amount of points in health that a character can have, this is a great advantage. Jacob also gets a bonus to attack speed as well, which can make dealing with single targets much easier. This means that playing this character can be quite forgiving for a number of reasons. Where Ryan focuses more on the blocking aspect, Jacob is incentivized to attack zombies rapidly in order to regain stamina. Regaining stamina is great in a game that is as fast-paced as Dead Island 2. This can be insanely useful either to make a quick exit or for many other purposes. So, in short, Jacob is one of the best characters in Dead Island 2 and is really beginner friendly.

2. Bruno

Now, for our next entry, we have Bruno. Bruno is a character that wants to prioritize critical damage. For those who don't know, that is essentially, the damage that is done when a player inflicts a significant blow on a zombie. Bruno has one of the best base stats for this and can do damage in the right hands. This incentivizes targeting specific parts of Zombeis for extra damage. That isn't to say that he isn't versatile either, as he absolutely is. Bruno is a character that wants to prioritize heavy attacks when available as well. Sneak attacks and heavy attacks will do significantly more damage when playing as Bruno compared to any of the other characters. Also, Bruno is a character that incentivizes sprinting, making him great for run and gun playstyles. All in all, Bruno is a fantastic pick for one of the best Dead Island 2 characters.

1. Dani

For our final entry on our list of the best Dead Island 2 characters, we have Dani. Now, Dani is a character with a fairly sizable health pool, which makes her rather forgiving to new players. Additionally, she is great at picking apart groups of zombies due to one of her passive abilities. Thunderstruck is an ability that allows Dani to create explosions with her attacks, which can be immensely useful. Added to this is her ability to regain health for quickly slaughtering multiple zombies in a row. This adds to her overall survivability quite a bit, making her a great character to learn the game with. Her character is able to regain health, which makes up for her mediocre health recovery. This means players will be able to get back into eh action, but only if they are able to clear the area of zombies.
