Best Armors in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora's open world is incredibly vast and full of stunning features, including lush forests, majestic mountains, and picturesque plains. Exploring this stunning alien world is fun and adventurous. However, it can also be dangerous, considering everything that can kill you and the threats lurking around every corner. To this end, you need reliable armor for protection to traverse the open world and face your enemies.

You can collect five armor categories: Headguard, Chest Guard, Armguards, Waistcloth, and Ankle Guards. However, the armor comes in different types; some are more efficient and reliable than others. Here is an overview of the best armor in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Best Headguard: Sarentu Headband

Sarentu Headband

The Sarentu Headband is the best armor for your head. Notably, it has a high health rating ranging from 174 to 215, depending on the quality of the material you use for crafting. Moreover, you get Renown perks of +20% when you wear the headband, earning you more Clan Favor when you go on quests and engage in activities. That’s not all, as the headband also increases your Stealth rating by 10%, helping you hide from RDA forces.

You can unlock the Sarentu Headband Recipe by completing all 12 Sarentu Totems in the Western Frontier. After attaining this head armor, you will need to improve its craft using the following resources:

  •  Cloud Pine Bark: You can harvest Cloud Pine Bark from the Cluster Pines biome near the start of the Fertile River. Notably, it is recommended to harvest at night for exquisite-quality bark.
  • Mudgem Shells: You can harvest Mudgem Shells from Ensnared Lake, located northeast of the Clouded Forest. It is recommended to harvest them while they are dry for their exquisite quality.
  • Rock Orchid Cones: You can harvest Rock Orchid Cones at Ensnared Lake. Harvesting them while they are dry for exquisite quality is also recommended.

Remember: the headband’s health rating depends on the quality of the resources. You need exquisite materials in all three categories to unlock the armor’s maximum health rating.

Best Chest Guard: Healer Shoulder Piece

Best Armors in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

The Healer Shoulder Piece is the best chest guard, considering its maximum 244 Health rating. You can craft one by finding the following resources:

  • Tooth: Any tooth can do, but Boulderlands Thanator Tooth offers the most exquisite quality. You can find one south of Ensnared Lake, northeast of the Clouded Forest.
  • Forest Pine Cones: You can find exquisite-quality Forest Pine Cones at the peak of Giant’s Bane, located at the center of the Clouded Forest. Notably, it is recommended to harvest the cones while they are dry for exquisite quality.
  •  Trail Moss: You can find Trail Moss on the vines above the Great Stone Swamp, located west of the Clouded Forest. Notably, it is recommended to harvest the moss while it is raining for its exquisite quality.

It is worth noting that the quality baselines for the Tooth and Forest Pine Cone are superior and fine, respectively. However, you need exquisite quality to unlock the chest guard’s maximum health rating.

Best Armguards: Uniluk’s Cuff

Uniluk’s Cuff

Uniluk’s Cuff makes for the best Armguards in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Its health rating ranges from 87 to 256, depending on the quality of the resources you use. Additionally, it offers a +15% Weakspot Damage perk, ideal for sharpshooters good at targeting the enemy’s most vulnerable spots.

You can obtain the Recipe Source for Uniluk’s Cuff when you reach the “Hidden Clan” main quest towards the end of the game. Moreover, you also need the following resources to craft this armor:

  • Tooth: While any tooth works, Boulderlands Thanator Tooth is recommended for its exquisite quality.
  • Cloud Pine Bark: Again, Cloud Pine Bark is available at the Cluster Pines biome and works best when harvested at night.
  • Heavy Hide: While any hide can work, the Thanator Heavy Hide is recommended for its exquisite quality. You can find it in the Mentor’s River, northwest of the Kinglor Forest.

The quality baselines for the resources range from fine to superior to exquisite. However, exquisite quality is recommended for all three resources to unlock the Armguards’ maximum health rating.

Best Waistcloth: Mask Maker Waistcloth

Mask Maker Waistcloth

The Mask Maker Waistcloth has a health rating ranging from 81 to 256. Moreover, it offers an Efficient Healing perk, reducing the energy used to regenerate health by 30%.

You can earn the recipe source for this waistcloth by completing the “Into the Fog” quest. Additionally, you must collect the following resources to craft the armor:

  • Fiber: Any fiber can work, but Fog Bloom and Sailfin Blossom fibers offer exquisite quality. You can find them in the center of the clearing at Weary Swamp, located north of the Clouded Forest.
  • Tooth: Any tooth can work, but Boulderlands Thanator Tooth is recommended for its exquisite quality.
  • Cone: Any cone can work; several cone types offer exquisite quality. Particularly, Frillstem Cones harvested while dry are recommended for their exquisite quality.

The Fiber must be of exquisite quality, but the tooth can be of superior quality. However, exquisite quality resources are required in every category to unlock the maximum health rating.

Best Ankle Guards: Sarentu Ankle Guards

Sarentu Ankle Guards

The Sarentu Ankle Guards have a health rating ranging from 182 to 227. Moreover, they come with a 15% Health Bonus perk.

The Recipe Source for Sarentu Ankle Guards unlocks when you complete ten Sarentu Totems in the Western Frontier. You also need the following resources to craft the armor:

  • Frillstem Cone: Frillstem cones are available in the Giant’s Wilderness Biome. Remember to harvest them while they are dry for the best quality.
  • Boulderlands Thanator Light Hide: Boulderlands Thanator Light Hide is available south of Ensnare Lake.
  • Crimson Bark: You can harvest Crimson Bark from the mountains floating above the Tangled Heart. It is recommended to harvest at night for the best quality.

You need exquisite-quality Boulderlands Thanator Light Hide and Crimson Bark to craft the armor. However, while the Frillstem Cone can be of superior quality, it is still recommended to go for exquisite to unlock the armor’s full health rating.
