Star Wars Outlaws is a title that was recently revealed during Summer Games Fest 2023, by Ubisoft. This game appears to be an open world and will see the player adventuring through the deepest recesses of space. Along the way, players will be able to make their heroine in the game, Kay Vess a true legend. This will see the player interacting with multiple different types of people throughout their journey. Some of which will aid you, and some who will hinder you greatly. This really gives a sense of danger throughout the world. And it gives the player plenty of side content to accomplish or complete. So if you, like us cannot wait for this heroic adventure, continue on to learn more. As we will be covering the story, and many other elements of the game. So without further ado, here is Star Wars: Outlaws — Everything We Know.

What is Star Wars: Outlaws

So, to begin, we ask ourselves a rather simple question. What is Star Wars: Outlaws? As hinted at above, the game allows players to take on the role of a heroine named Kay Vess as they move throughout the galaxy. Throughout her journey, we will meet lots of interesting characters in this vast open world. It appears that the hub cities for several locations will be bustling with things to do, and people to meet. This is great, as often players can find treasures or side quests tucked away in these areas.

It will be really interesting to see how well the areas in and around these cities and settlements will be fleshed out. With an IP that is as massive as Star Wars, there remains a ton of breathing room to add layers upon layers of content. Players will be able o steal valuable loot, and hopefully make a name for themselves across the stars. This is great and really ties in well with the fantasy of being a rogue scoundrel in the universe. It would also appear that reputation is something that will follow you throughout your time in this game, which is great to see.

Story

The story for Star Wars: Outlaws appears to be something that appears charming. Players will be able to engage in an epic adventure with a lovable companion by their side. As far as the general story, it would appear that the main character of the game Kay Vess as she attempts to gain her freedom. This is a strong premise for the game and quickly gains that player's support automatically. This involves the player doing their fair share of wheeling and dealing in order to make it out of risky situations alive.

That isn't to say that you go it alone either. This is because there are plenty of people you will meet along the way, as well as your lovable companion Nix. Each interaction you have with a character appears to have great weight behind it. This seems to be heading toward a style of gameplay that greatly incentivizes socializing with people. And creates a world where saying the right things at the right times goes a long way. This is great for those Star Wars fans who have always wanted to roam the galaxy as a rogue. So, all in all, it would appear that the story will be revolving around our main characters and take them to places we can only imagine so far.

Gameplay

As far as gameplay for this title goes, quite a bit was shown at Summer Games Fest 2023. In this trailer, we see the player move throughout the world alongside their companion and use them to outwit opponents. This is only the beginning, however, as the amount of the world we see in the trailer seems impressive. Players will be able to interact and pilot very iconic vehicles from the franchise as well. This makes getting around in the world a breeze, and it would appear there are quite a few ways to flesh out these vehicles as well.

A notable aspect of the game for older fans of the Star Wars franchise is the fact that the game will feature space battles. This is great, as there are few feelings that are as inherently Star Wars as getting into massive space battles. In short, the potential for this feature is immense, and hopefully, it will be more fleshed out and supported. The ship actually plays an important role in the gameplay as it acts as a mobile base in between worlds. So, in conclusion, the gameplay for Star Wars: Outlaws looks phenomenal and we can't wait to see more.

Development

First, the development of the game appears to be going smoothly. And it appears that the developers at Ubisoft will be shooting for a 2024 release. This is great, as it will give the game time to cook so to speak, and make sure every feature is fully fleshed out and ready to go before launch. So, to summarize, the development of the game is going well, and it appears to be on track for a release next year.
