Splatoon 3 coming to Ninitendo Switch

Nintendo has announced that Splatoon 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch soon. Splatoon 3 will splatter ink all over the Nintendo Switch this summer, according to Nintendo's announcement on Twitter on Friday.

Splatoon 3 game modes include a single-player story mode, cooperative “Salmon Run” mode for multiple players, as well as 4-on-4 Turf War mode for teams of four. The Turf War mode will feature “a mix of new and returning stages,” according to Nintendo.

Splatoon 3 has several differences from its predecessors. When a game begins, the most notable change is the appearance of player name banners on either side of the screen, which appear to be editable. Splatoon 3 introduces a new gameplay mechanic: instead of starting on the identical pad at the opposite end of the stage, players now fly in on some type of machine and seek to land on their side of the area.

There is also a wide range of new weapons and special abilities that debut in Splatoon 3. The bow and arrow is shown in action in the trailer, which is a new twist on the sniper. Because it doesn't have a direct line of sight, it can engage in more stealthy operations. There is an extremely small area of effect blast when arrows miss and land on the ground.

Splatoon 3 – Release Date Revealed - Nintendo Switch

Along with the release date announcement, Nintendo also revealed a new bonus for active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers. Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion DLC is now available for free on the Nintendo Switch system for active subscribers. This single-player addition for Splatoon 2 was previously only available as a separate purchase, but now it's yours to keep as long as you have a paid subscription.

Splatoon 3 will launch for $59.99 on the Nintendo Switch on September 9, 2022. Pre-orders for the game are currently available at selected retailers and on the Nintendo eShop.
