Skate 4 Reportedly in Playtesting Phase

EA has been relatively quiet ever since it lifted the lid of the fourth entry to the globally adored Skate franchise. Since 2020, barely anything has come to light, which has left a lot of fans somewhat ticked off. But alas, the fact is, Skate 4 is still on its way, in spite of it dodging the spotlight for well over a decade since its previous chapter.

As for this moment, industry insiders are claiming that the game is actually in its playtesting phase. In layman's terms, this means EA is ironing out the kinks before releasing it to the public. However, without an official release date set in stone, it does beg the question of whether the claim is even remotely plausible, or if it's more speculation meshed with false hope.

That's not all, folks

Tom Henderson of eXputer, for one, claims that Skate 4 is in its playtesting phase, despite EA not having shed light on such a thing. This, of course, does raise a slew of questions about a few things. However, it appears that, with EA cancelling its 2022 showcase, we may not seek the answers we're looking for for quite some time.

On top of this, Henderson reports that development on the game is going well, according to sources. It is also coming with cross-play, which EA tends to tie in with most of its major franchises. And then, at the bottom of the pile, there are the rumors of the game being free-to-play. But this is all speculation, and in no way concrete enough to entertain.
