Grand Theft Auto 6: “Vice City, Home…”

Updated on

Now, we're not prone to stoking a few fires whenever a rumor pops out of the blue. Having said that, with Grand Theft Auto 6 coming to light with an actual concrete confirmation from Rockstar itself, it's only right that we chase a few leads. After all, this isn't your run-of-the-mill bottom shelf indie game that we're talking about. This is a game that, in all fairness, has been passed around for nearly a decade — ever since GTA 5 graced the industry back in 2013.

It's 2022, and we're finally looking at the next leg of the journey. As for when it will release, or even be talked about is another question. One thing's for sure: fans are certain the game will return to Vice City. However, rather than seeing Phil Collins live in concert, it could be more, say, Ed Sheeran. That's because, according to a few rumors, the Miami-based city could be getting a modern makeover.

From the horse's mouth

A certain source, known to the trade as the tez2, has actually claimed that Rockstar will shed light on the sixth instalment at some stage this year. Furthermore, the insider says that a trailer will be released, which will go beyond the standard CGI cinematics. By that, it could mean a few gameplay snippets could very well be included. With Rockstar confirming the game as being “in active development”, chances are there's plenty of material to showcase. The question is, will the words of the tez2 ring true, and will we see it all unravel at some point in 2022?

Chances are, Grand Theft Auto 6 won't release for another good few years. While the game itself is clearly under the hammer, its predecessor is still raking in quite the income. And so, it's probably best not to get any hopes up just yet. It's a ways off — but it is happening. Take that as a consolation prize, I guess.

So, what's your take? Do you think GTA 6 will return to Vice City? Are you expecting to see a trailer drop at some point this year? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
