Best Industrialist Build in Starfield

If you love a thing or two about making credits in Starfield, then the Industrialist is your best pick for the job. With the character’s background, you build bonds and make money with exemplary skills in the space business. The Industrialist also has a reputation for being a space explorer similar to the Long Hauler but in search of industry resources.

However, creating the best Industrialist build in Starfield means combining different aspects. The best build options for the industrialist depend on each player's preference. However, this guide should help players choose the best skills, traits, weapons, armor and companion builds. To boost your decision-making process, here's a highlight of these builds and how much they go into creating the best industrialist build in Starfield.

Best Skills Build for Industrialist

Industrialist Skills

The Industrialist background role as an expert in exploration and trade. This means that Commerce skills are a must-have in your skill set arsenal. With it, you can max out the skill and gain more credits from your trades in Starfield.

Learning and equipping this background with Persuasion skills is handy. The skill allows you to avoid fights any time you come across your enemies. Your background could also enjoy the Payloads skill, which is a good option to help you increase the amount of goods and resources you can carry on your ship.

Since industrialists explore the depths of the Settled Systems, Astrodynamics would be a necessary skill. This skill improves drive experience through space. Alongside Astrodynamics, Astrophysics and Surveying are skills that improve learning on each Starfield planet you visit in your search for resources.

Your background in space exploration would also benefit from Gastronomy and Special Projects skills. In your quest for Starfield’s space resources, these two skills will prove handy in crafting survival and offensive tactics.

Space exploration by the Industrialists calls for better resource management on different planets. The Outposts skill trait plays a major role in helping you manage the resources and the sources within Starfield. For instance, Outpost Management skill helps you better manage the outposts you set up. The Outpost Engineering skill is another useful skill, allowing for better construction of outpost modules.

Best Traits Build for Industrialist

Taskmaster Trait

Unlike other Starfield backgrounds, the Industrialist relies on a few Starfield traits to achieve the best build. One of the traits needed for the best build is the Taskmaster trait. The trait is a must-have for players considering enhancing this character with traits, since its leading effects include automatic ship repairs and negotiating pay rates with crew members.

The Extrovert trait is also a helpful addition, as the industrialist is always on the move looking for resources in Starfield. With this trait, an Industrialist forms collaborations with other companions. Exploring with companions is an added advantage since it's less exhausting and consumes less oxygen for the Industrialist.

For combat, the Empath trait is available as an option for the Industrialist. The trait is a booster for combat effectiveness in that combat actions approved by your companions unleash more damage. However, if the combat actions are against some of your colleagues, the Empath trait has the opposite effect. You will, therefore, have to be careful about which companions you carry as part of the ship’s crew.

Best Weapons Build for Industrialist

Industrialist Weapons

The Industrialist is not a character exposed to as much combat as other Starfield backgrounds. However, exploring for resources across the Settled Systems means the Industrialist is vulnerable to attacks from foes and other criminals. That makes a melee weapon or pistol necessary for self-defense.

A leading option for the Industrialist is the Keelhauler, a high-caliber Pistol capable of base damage of Phys 83. You can also change the Keelhauler to fit your fight by adding a compensator, opting for a long barrel, or using full automatic capability. You can access the Keelhauler once you complete the Echoes of the Past Faction quest.

Another weapon available in the Industrialist arsenal is Sir Livingstone’s Pistol, an ideal handgun offering a decent damage rate of Phys 35 against enemies. The unique weapon also comes with modifications allowing you to increase its damage velocity and magazine size for your Starfield missions. Like the Keelhauler, you get Sir Livingstone’s Pistol after achieving the Kid Stuff trait and completing the One Small Step Main quest.

For close combat, the Industrialist gets a melee weapon in the form of the Tanto, a tactical knife capable of a base damage of Phys 40. Each Tanto may include different modifications depending on which level your Industrialist character is playing. Interestingly, the Tanto is available from eight Starfield shops, including the Neon Tactical, Centaurion Arsenal, and Shepherd’s General Store.

Aside from the Tanto, other ideal weapons for a melee attack include the Wakizashi, Combat Knife, knife, or the Ripshank.

Best Armor Build for Industrialist

UC AntiXeno Armor

The Industrialist background revolves around the ship and exploring planet systems for resources. Such mission quests mean the Industrialist is bound to encounter alien dangers, and a reliable armor set is necessary.

One of the best Starfield armor builds you can choose for the Industrialist is the UC Antixeno armor build. The spacesuit set has impressive armor effects alongside remarkable set stats with high ratings for physicality(164), energy(176), and EM(176). The stats combination makes the UC Antixeno a good choice for self-defense in your surveys and explorations across the Settled Systems.

If you are curious, you can access the UC Antixeno Spacesuit set by completing the Hostile Intelligence side mission, a quest under the UC Vanguard questline.

Best NPC Build for Industrialist

NPC: Vasco

Vasco would rank as one of the best NPC picks to hire for the Industrialist. The utilitarian robot is a member of the Constellation faction, making him an excellent asset for all matters ship-related.

As your companion, Vasco could be useful in space dogfights due to his knowledge of your ship’s Aneutronic Fusion, EM Weapons, and Shield systems. You can recruit Vasco by first unlocking it during the One Small Step mission. Once unlocked, you can ask Vasco to join your crew and explore Starfield together.
