The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has its admirable share of well-balanced Victims, one of whom is none other than Connie, a nimble yet surprisingly efficient locksmith who thrives under pressure and operates best when also under the cover of darkness. Like others, Connie also bears the power to turn the tide on the Family, and also serve as one of the best team players on the entire board.

If you have just picked up a copy of the latest online multiplayer sensation, then you’ll definitely want to consider pushing as much XP on Connie as possible. Not entirely sure where to begin? Here’s everything we’d suggest doing just as soon as you get your first handful of XP. Best Connie build in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre? We’ve got you covered.

Ability

  • Focused

As far as core abilities go, Connie definitely has one of the better ones, as she can easily pick locks in a couple of seconds flat, whereas other Victims are forced to play through a time-consuming mini-game, of sorts. Knowing this, and how Connie can quite easily move between areas without having to loiter for prolonged periods of time, is what makes her the go-to choice for both beginners and die-hard Victims.

Of course, the Focused ability will need upgrading, too, so it’s best to focus on one of the three winding paths just as soon as you get your hands on some XP. To put Connie’s master lock picking ability to good use, we suggest aiming for the path on the left, which is the Quicker Recharge Rate. Activating this line of nodes will allow players to use the Focused ability more efficiently, and with less of a cooldown time, too. If you can boost this to the third stage, then you’ll be able to utilize the Focused ability every 180 seconds — which means you should, in theory, be able to escape any of the three maps in four minutes or less.

Perks

As with any Victim or Family member in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, there are only three available Perk slots for you to cash in on. Knowing Connie, and how she’s less of a fighter and more of a nimble locksmith, it makes sense to prioritize both the Proficiency and Stealth nodes on the Skill Tree. If you’ve the XP to spare, then aim to purchase the three following Perks as soon as you’re able to.

  • Efficient Locksmith

The Efficient Locksmith Perk reduces the risk of breaking an Unlock Tool when used on an exit. Given the fact that you’ll need to bypass at least two doors to make your escape, this is definitely something you’ll want to get your hands on. If you can max it out to the third level, then you’ll have a 40% chance of keeping your Unlock Tool with you after successfully managing to exit the basement doors.

  • Knock Knock

One of the first things you’ll want to do as Connie is get ahold of an Unlock Tool for the basement doors. To make this preliminary phase as painless as possible, you should aim to purchase the Knock Knock Perk, which will allow you to see an outline of every available exit point on the map. If you can grab a couple of Unlock Tools on your way out, you should be able to make way for the final exit in a matter of minutes.

  • Sneaky Pete

As you’ll be leveling up the Proficiency, Endurance, and Stealth Attributes, you’ll want to consider taking on the Sneaky Pete Perk, as it will boost your overall Stealth by 7. If you can throw in a few Extra Attribute Points from your personal Skill Tree stash, too, then you’ll eventually transform Connie into something of a lock-picking ghost.

Attributes

If you’ve played your fair share of matches, then you should, technically, have enough Attribute points to elevate the Proficiency and Stealth sliders to just shy of 50. In addition to these two Attributes, you’ll also want to boost the Endurance slider until it’s hovering somewhere between 33 and 36. In this instance, you’ll want to discard any Toughness or Strength boosts, as Connie isn’t much of a fighter, but more of a tinkerer who operates from the shadows.

  • Proficiency +10

Having a higher Proficiency means being able to complete certain tasks, such as picking locks and rooting for Unlock Tools, in far less time. As you’ll already be a master locksmith by trade, this stat will apply in situations that involve collecting Health, Bone Shards, and Unlock Tools.

  • Stealth +8

Boosting your base Stealth level to a certain extent will allow for you to move around the map and not be detected by the Family members. Although not a priority compared to Proficiency and Endurance, it’s definitely a better area to explore over the Toughness and Strength sectors.

  • Endurance +10

Doubling up your Endurance will allow you to move around the board a lot quicker, as well as regenerate your stamina gauge twice as fast. This is yet another life-saving Attribute pool that you’ll want to pour points into as soon as you’re able to.

Skill Tree

When it comes to fleshing out all of those nodes on Connie’s Skill Tree, you’ll want to start moving towards the top-left corner of the screen, as these steer more towards Proficiency, Stealth, and Endurance-based skills. Ideally, you’ll want to boost Connie up to the max level, and essentially pick up all of the leftover Extra Attribute Points along the way, which will eventually go towards the aforementioned Attributes at a later time.

The Perks you’ll want to learn for Connie as soon as possible are Efficient Locksmith, Knock Knock, and Sneaky Pete. You will need roughly 50 Skill Points to max out Connie’s tree — so be sure to spend plenty of time building XP before jumping over to the Attributes section and fleshing out the character. Once the three Perks have been locked in, you’ll want to start putting them to use in the games themselves, as this is the only way to boost their powers and max out there effectiveness.
