5 Video Game Sidekicks That Should Be Banned

Published

 on

Luigi (Mario Bros), Tails (Sonic The Hedgehog 2), Diddy Kong (Donkey Kong Country) and HK-47 (Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic), all have one thing in common. They are all sidekicks. Such video game characters are reliable and lovable sidekicks, but we are going to cover some of the worst sidekicks to be rendered.

Before we delve into the sidekicks you will never want by your side, I will add that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a DLC (downloadable content) leak via Chinese store. The leak includes a half-hour of gameplay footage and a magical boss fight, for a potential March 11 release.

Video game sidekicks like Victor Sullivan from the Uncharted series and Cortana (a built-in artificial intelligence) from the Halo series, are a relief. In the Uncharted series, Victor Sullivan (also called Sully) is Nathan Drake’s sidekick (disposing of possible treasure hunters and helping Drake escape areas). Also, Victor is a father figure, even though their hectic days are spent eliminating enemies. Cortana from the Halo series, will help Master Chief reach new areas and call out enemies during battle. Here are a list of the 5 video game sidekicks that should be banned.

5. Mr. Resetti (Animal Crossing):

Why on the planet would anyone create Mr. Resetti? Mr. Resetti is a short-tempered, brown mole appearing in all of the Animal Crossing series games, ensuring that players continuously save throughout the gameplay. Reset within the Animal Crossing game or turn off the power without saving, only makes Mr. Resetti more frustrated.

In earlier Animal Crossing installments, before New Leaf, Mr. Resetti can force players to answer questions, using a slider with labels (or repeat sentences). Reset the game too much and it will lead to a fake reset, out of hope that you will save your gameplay. Why should Mr. Resetti be banned? It is as if you are paying for a video game to be mad at you, but there is obviously more to love about Animal Crossing and Mr. Resetti already marked his territory in the Animal Crossing series.

4. Ashley Graham (Resident Evil 4):

An infected Spanish cult (Los Iluminados) kidnapped the president’s daughter, Ashley Graham and Leon is Kennedy has a mission to rescue her. Ashley Graham just runs into villains and you have to save her life, like the hero you are.

3. Daxter (Jak and Daxter):

On your journey, the orange-haired buck-toothed, rodent-like creature, Daxter (Jak’s best friend), will complain, which simply does not motivate you at all. To some gamers, he is humorous and to others, he is annoying. He was first introduced in The Precursor Legacy and even though the Jak and Daxter series would not be the same without Daxter, Daxter should be banned.

2. Baby Mario (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island):

Sometimes, Mario has the long-tongued Yoshi as the sidekick, but in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, the infant version of the everyone’s favorite plumber, is a Yoshi’s sidekick. This pair is as unnecessary as if though someone added the animated television series, Bob the Builder with Bobby’s World.

1. Slippy (Star Fox 64):

Slippy Toad has a high-pitched voice, but reminds me a bit of Michigan J. Frog from the Warner Bros.' Merrie Melodies film series. He is a childhood friend of Fox McCloud and invented numerous gadgets and vehicles. His inventions include the Arwing, Blue-Marine, Landmaster, and the Reflector and Blaster, but talks too much. For someone who talks excessively, less time needed saving the character, would be appreciated.
