Ever wondered what Chocobo stew would taste like? Well, you might be in for a surprise — to some degree, anyway. Final Fantasy (well, Final Fantasy 14) is set to release a cookbook this November, featuring over 70 recipes in one chunky 192-page hardcover collection. That's according to well-known tipster Wario64, who recently discovered the book on the Simon & Schuster catalog.

Sadly, the Final Fantasy-themed cookbook has since been renamed to something a little more cryptic. And instead of painting it in black and white, Simon & Schuster now present the item as “Licensed Video Game Book”, with a few scattered details to support the description. However, from what we've already unearthed, it seems as though the dots have already been connected, assembling a picture we now know to be The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook. So yes, it is real!

“Take a culinary adventure through one of gaming's most beloved franchises,” the S&S description reads. “With stunning photography and step by step instructions, this book gives you everything you need to recreate some of this game's most iconic dishes.”

According to Amazon…

“Journey through the rich culinary landscape of Final Fantasy XIV Online. Featuring favorite flavors from across Hydaelyn and Norvrandt and easy-to-follow instructions, this tome provides numerous tips on how to make the most of your ingredients.”

“Start your day with Farmer's Breakfast, a very famous simple-yet-delightful dish; savor the Knight's Bread of Coerthas; five into La Noscea's Rolanberry Cheesecake, and many more.”

Well, there you have it. The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook is actually happening. And what's more — it's coming this November to a digital storefront near you. So, what more to do than assemble the utensils and prepare to delve into the culinary arts? Come November 9th, you'll be able to feast on some of the wildest creations known to the franchise. Just, eh — try not to expect Chocobo stew to actually be on the menu, though. Fans probably wouldn't be too happy about that.
