 on

Final Fantasy XIV is an absolutely sprawling game. Within the MMORPG, there are tons of things to do, no matter where you are in the game. That said, with the recent update of 6.4, there are now even more things players must give a go if they have the chance. These activities range in what kind of Final Fantasy XIV player they appeal to as well, which is great. So without further ado, here are 5 Things You Need to Try From Final Fantasy XIV 6.4.

5. The Aetherfont Dungeon

Starting off today's list of the things you need to try from Final Fantasy XIV‘s 6.4 update, we have the Aetherfont dungeon. The Aetherfont dungeon is one that seems rather centered around Sharlayan lore. This will make it very interesting for players to learn more about, as the lore surrounding the Sharlayans is really quite interesting. Also, the dungeon layout itself is full of visual intrigue as well as challenging content to keep the player engaged.

That is hardly all that this dungeon has to offer players, however. For completing this dungeon, players will be able to receive Tomestones of Causality, as well as Tomestones of Comedy. There are also quite a few treasure chests for players to loot throughout the dungeon, which could possibly hold a sweet upgrade for new players to the dungeon. Speaking of loot, the looted gear available from this dungeon looks fantastic and is sure to fill up at least one slot on your Glamour Plate. So, if you haven't done so already, you need to try out this dungeon and nab some of its rewards right away.

4. Pandaemonium: Anabaseios

Staying somewhat in the same vein, next on our list, we have a raid. The Pandaemonium: Anabaseios raid is one that players who are up for a challenge should definitely try. This is for a plethora of reasons, but to start, the loot from this raid looks awesome. This is sure to please those players who wish to fill up their Glamour Plats with snazzy gear. It should be noted, however, that players will have to have at least completed the Chronicles of a New Era quest ” Truth Imperfect” to participate in the raid.

This isn't necessarily a difficult task, and moreso just requires the player to find the quest giver. It should also be noted, that players can only receive one token from this raid a week. This essentially keeps players from being able to monotonously farm the raid. It should also be noted that loot doesn't work in the typical way in this raid as well. Players must turn in tokens to receive gear. This can be done by speaking to Djole in Radz-at-Han, or Mylenie in Labyrinthos. To close, if you are someone who enjoys raiding content, this is a great addition to Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.4.

3. Main Scenario Quest

The Main Scenario Quest is always a draw for Final Fantasy XIV players. This is due to the quality of the quests within the MSQ, as well as the story surrounding them. And, patch 6.4 certainly does not let players down in this regard. The MSQ for this update is called The Dark Throne, an ominous title for sure. The Dark Throne centers around the archfiends Cagnazzo and Rubicante. Players must try and track down a way to reach the void in order to reach the thirteenth.

This MSQ quest serves as another gripping entry into the MSQ line. So, for players who are invested in the Final Fantasy XIV story, this is great. Additionally, the quest will give great insight into the player character's situation, which is always fantastic. Alongside this quest, there are many subsequent quests that can be followed up on until their completion. So, in conclusion, if you are a player who enjoys doing the MSQ, then this entry is sure to be a great time. it should be noted however that there are prerequisite quests to complete, much like many other MSQs.

2. Island Sanctuary Content

Final Fantasy XIV

For our next entry, we have a feature that should be a tad more relaxing. The Island Sanctuary is a great place in which players can carve out their own cozy homes within Final Fantasy XIV. This is wonderful, as it gives players a space they can call their own. Here they can cultivate crops, raise pets, and much more. With patch 6.4, however, there are even more additions to this already well-fleshed-out feature.

It would seem that in the new update, you can explore entirely new areas for your Island Sanctuary. This is wonderful, as the feature already had plenty of things to do within it. There are new items that can be obtained by the vendor within the sanctuary, as well as new areas to harvest resources. This is great, as it gives players another avenue for success in their own personal goals. Additionally, alongside this, there are new crafting recipes to go with the new content as well, which is wonderful to see. All in all, Island Sanctuary content saw quite a few additions that players should definitely check out.

1. Ocean Fishing

Closing out our list of the things you need to try from patch 6.4 of Final Fantasy, we have Ocean Fishing. Now, for players who haven't delved into the depths with Ocean Fishing, this is essentially side content completely centered around fishing. Players will be able to go on, what is essentially, fishing raids, for wonderous fish only obtainable through this method. This is great, as it gives somewhat of an exclusivity to these fish, but not in a way that feels exclusionary.

This time around, players will be able to fish The Ruby Sea, as well as the One River. Each of these locations comes with its own fabulous fish to catch. This is great, as it will allow, either fish collectors or crafters and culinarians to receive new fish. It should be noted, however, that players must at least complete the Stormblood expansion before completing this content. Additionally, players can now choose from two routes when voyaging out to sea. In conclusion, Ocean Fishing has seen a big update within patch 6.4, and players should definitely check it out if they haven't already.
