The Quarry Story Length Confirmed

Supermassive Games' next entry in the growing portfolio of survival horror games, The Quarry, will release on June 10, 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The question that remains, of course, is whether or not it will be worth the $50 tag, seeing as past games in the Supermassive library have barely scratched the six-hour marker.

Speaking with SegmentNext, game director Will Byles said that the story is likely to set you back 10 hours. That said, it all depends on the player, and which routes one is likely to take when presented with multiple crossroads. If what Byles is saying is true, then it puts The Quarry on par with the likes of Until Dawn.

“Depending on the player, a single playthrough of The Quarry can take about ten hours. The game is also designed to be highly replayable, as we think many will want to go down alternate paths and make different choices,” Byles said. “If you're looking to experience every permutation of the story for The Quarry, you will find yourself playing for a very long time!”

What is The Quarry?

The Quarry, like its unrelated Dark Pictures Anthology games, focuses on a group of characters, all of whom have various story arcs and outcomes. Depending on your choices as you progress through each chapter, each character can either live long enough to see the finale, or meet their maker long before the prologue draws to a close.
