The Lamplighters League

So, you want to become a part of The Lamplighters League but aren’t sure if you’re good enough? First of all, The Lamplighters League isn’t nearly as strict as the folks over at the Justice League. Also, the game is a turn-based strategy entry, so if you’ve played such a game, then you should already have one foot in the door.

To be fair, The Lamplighters League takes it easier on the turn-based tactics affair. But it still employs a couple of challenging scenarios that require you to be at the top of your game. So, whenever you’re ready to rescue hostages, steal supplies, and, well, smash and grab stuff in an utterly thrilling world of pulp adventure, tag along on our The Lamplighters League: best tips for Beginners to enjoy a soft landing.

5. Have at Least One Class in Your Team

The Lamplighters League has 10 characters to pick from at launch. Each one has unique skills, weapons, and abilities. However, they’re all grouped into three major classes: bruiser, sneak, and saboteur.

As important as it is to familiarize yourself with all their characters and learn how to apply their unique skills on the battlefield, it’s equally essential to have at least one class on your team. That’s because each class offers an umbrella skill that’ll come in handy on missions.

The bruiser class helps to bash down vulnerable walls, paving the way for access to restricted areas. Bruiser is also the only class that can slam through groups of enemies by targeting them in a straight line.

Sneak, on the other hand, allows you to climb over typically taller walls. They can sneak past enemies easily, with a much lower possibility of detection for certain enemy types. This allows them to sneak behind enemies and sucker punch them without drawing too much attention.

Lastly, saboteur allows you to pick locks to infiltrate areas previously inaccessible to your troop. As for their takedown move, saboteurs help to draw enemies away from their stations, zapping them one by one using their shock mine ability.

4. Make Good Use of Recon Mode

The more you play The Lamplighters League, the more you’ll realize how crucial meticulous exploration is. It’s the only way to strategize your next move. You can spot areas of cover and the number of enemies nearby. Make sure to check out enemies’ lines of sight. If they spot you, they’ll be on high alert and quickly approach your position to investigate.

The Recon Mode allows you to pause the game so you can investigate your surroundings and enemies. You may see dynamite barrels or oil spills that you can blow up for crowd control. It’s also a great way to identify hazards and lootable items.

Recon mode allows you to move the game’s camera freely and independently, albeit still within your line of sight. Once you’ve carved out a plan, proceed with the infiltration or confrontation – whichever suits best.

3. Fighting isn’t Always the Best Bet

Gamers always tend to have one crucial decision to make when approaching the battlefield – to fight or take flight. But there’s a third option in stealth games that’s often ignored, and it’s sneaking past enemies.

As long as you stay out of enemies’ lines of sight and don’t make unnecessary noise, you can easily sneak past groups of enemies, especially when they’re in large numbers and pose a greater risk of death.

The Lamplighters League has a neat strategy where if you’re leading a group, only one person needs to stay hidden, and the guards will walk past you. However, if you happen to split up, then every individual character must stay hidden.

Besides avoiding death, stealth mode allows you to explore your surroundings without disturbance. You can comb through every corner and item for supplies and vital consumables.

Plus, killing enemies doesn’t yield much in return. They don’t yield skill points, just the odd consumable drop. Completing the objective, though, and collecting supplies on the map pays off more.

2. Scout First

If you must fight, try to scout the surroundings first. You’ll still need to stay hidden and only engage if you must. Scouting surroundings first helps to identify possible escape routes and even clear them of hazards ahead of the battle.

Secondly, you may run into loner enemies that you can pick off quickly, one by one. Picking off loner enemies comes in handy. It helps to thin the herd, as they’re likely reinforcements that you may have to deal with when you finally engage the main base.

Thirdly, scouting helps to collect any valuable supplies and consumables ahead of battle. Generally, always make a solid plan you can rely on that takes as much combat burden off your troop as possible.

1. Don’t Be Afraid to Split Up the Group

While sticking together may feel like your best bet to stay alive, splitting up once in a while can come in handy for completing missions quickly and effectively. When you have at least one class in your group, you can use their strengths to your advantage.

You’ll want to study enemy patrol patterns to see where to send out your team. Also, splitting up can help lure enemies away for your other teammates to take them out.

Remember, the doomsday clock will be fast approaching. It’s timed by the number of tasks you complete, which, in turn, thwart the factions' plans of world domination. If you ignore specific tasks, the factions will grow stronger and replace their hostile mobs with more robust elite enemy units to make your life difficult.

So, keep track of the doomsday clock and divide and conquer whenever you can. And don’t worry too much about character progression. The Lamplighters League makes progression a lot easier on you by sharing skill points among all teammates.
