PlayStation 5 system update

Sony has unveiled a new system software update for its PlayStation 5. The update, Version 23.02–08.20.00, will offer several noteworthy improvements to enhance the overall user experience.

One of the standout features of this update is the enhancement of the music section within the control center. Sony has introduced a two-column layout, making it much more user-friendly and simplifying browsing through various music categories, playlists, and songs.

Another significant improvement pertains to PlayStation VR2 users. The update addresses concerns about unintentional broadcasting of surroundings while playing PlayStation VR2 games. The option will prevent the camera's see-through image from appearing on the TV while using the PS VR2.

Additionally, Sony has integrated voice command functionality for PS5 users to check for new features conveniently. Users can simply say “What's new?” via Voice Command from any screen to access this feature. It's important to note that this Voice Command feature is currently available only in English for players with accounts on the PlayStation Network in the U.S. and UK.

In addition to this software update, Sony recently confirmed the upcoming release of the PS5 Slim in November. The new PS5 Slim will be available in standard and Digital Editions, featuring a 30% reduction in volume and an 18% and 24% reduction in weight for the standard and Digital editions, respectively, compared to the current model. Furthermore, the PS5 Slim Digital Edition will support an attachable Blu-ray disc drive, available for separate purchase.

The PS5 Slim will launch on November 8 with enticing bundles, including Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Modern Warfare 3 editions.
