MotoGP 24: Everything We Know

It's the first quarter of the year, and the annual releases are already lining up. Among the front runners, Milestone and MotoGP have pulled the curtains back on their latest adrenaline-fueled masterpiece, MotoGP 24. With promises of fresh features, many of which were fervently requested by the series' fans, this installment is poised to revolutionize the franchise.

Get ready for a new Riders Market and Stewards. These latest additions will throw players into an immersive experience akin to real-life racing encounters. Thankfully, you don't have to twiddle your thumbs through the sands of time waiting for the game to drop. MotoGP 24 will be launched in a few months. In the meantime, let's catch you up on the details. Here is MotoGP 24: Everything We Know.

What is MotoGP 24?

MotoGP 24 is an upcoming motorcycle simulator racing game. It's set to be the entry for 2024, picking up the pieces from MotoGP 23. The game will feature official tracks and riders from the FIM Enel MotoE World Championship and the Moto2 and Moto3 categories. Once again, players will mount the bikes as their favorite riders and hit the legendary course tracks. Are you ready to harness the power of the throttle to defy limits?

Additionally, the new title adds exciting features that amp up the gameplay. A tune in the game's physics and AI will replicate the real-world racing events. For instance, you'll come face-to-face with a former World Champion's mannerisms of waiting for the right time to launch the winning overtake.

Also, the title revs up the handling mechanics. A new electronic tuning system will improve corner entry and exit management to better “control rear wheel slip and the bike's tendency to wheelie.” And these are only a handful of the additions to expect with the new motor sim. More details are in the gameplay.

Story

It's unlikely that MotoGP 24 will feature a storyline, especially since MotoGP 23 didn't have one. Instead, fans were treated to an intense career mode and a fictional social media that added a personal element to racing. Perhaps MotoGP 24 will take the same route.

What we know for certain is that the devs intend to intensify the real-life racing experience. Last year's game saw the introduction of flag-to-flag races and Dynamic Weather. This year, they are taking it up a notch. The game will feature a new AI system, according to the developers: “Rookies will be fiery as they need to prove themselves, while veterans will be more strategic.”

Gameplay

finishing line

MotoGP 24 is like getting the latest edition of your favorite book, but with some exciting bonus chapters. The upcoming title is sure to revve up the gameplay experience with exciting new features. First up is the Riders Market, inspired by Marc Marques switching from Honda to Gresini Ducati. It's essentially a big trading market where players can swap riders between teams. Every season, there's a fresh face leading the rider lineup, keeping the competition fierce.

Additionally, stewards are making their debut in the game. Think of them as the referees of motocross, making sure everyone races fair and safe. They're like silent guardians, keeping a watchful eye to make sure the race stays thrilling and fair. It's a brand-new addition to the franchise, and MotoGP 24 is leading the pack.

These stewards aren't just for show, though. They'll be watching every race and session closely, ready to dish out penalties for any rule-breaking on the track. Expect penalties like the Long Lap, Let Pass orders, and time penalties if you step out of line. It's like experiencing the full adrenaline rush of a real racing championship! And don't worry, the AI opponents aren't getting any special treatment. The stewards keep a close eye on them, too.

Moreover, the game is introducing an “Adaptive Difficulty” system designed to cater to players of all skill levels. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned pro, the game adjusts the challenge based on how you're doing. It's like having a personal coach guide you through the twists and turns until you're ready to fly solo.

Development

Developer Milestone is currently working on MotoGP 24. Speaking during the unveiling, Milestone CEO Luisa Bixio expressed the amount of dedication the team is pouring into this project. “The whole team has invested heart and mind to craft the best possible experience for fans worldwide, and my heartfelt appreciation goes out to MotoGP for being constantly at our side in this journey.”

Founded in Milan in 1996, Milestone is one of the longest-running racing game developers. The studio has been the official licensed partner for MotoGP since 2012. In 2021, the studio renewed its partnership with MotoGP, where it is “set to continue as the official MotoGP™ Video Game developer and publisher for at least another five years.” The new contract seeks to strengthen the relationship between the two parties further.

Moreover, for the first time in the season, Milestone is set to become a Grand Prix title sponsor. Could this be Milestone's entry into the world of F1 racing?
