MOTOGP22 VS MOTOGP23

Welcome to the high-octane realm of motorcross racing, where dirt becomes your battleground, and motorcycles become your steeds of thunder.

For the longest time running, the MotoGP franchise has offered an immersive and authentic representation of the MotoGP world. Each year, the Italian studio Milestone Interactive unveils a new game featuring a new breed of warriors emerging to conquer the untamed terrain as the series lets you step into the boots of your favorite MotoGP stars.

Last year, MotoGp 22 pushed the boundaries of the off-road fury game by introducing new features that escalated the immersive experience. Sticking to tradition, Milestone plans to unveil the latest entrant in the series, MotoGP 23, later this year. So how do these two games compare? Which of the two is the King of the wild wheels showdown? Here is MotoGP 22 Vs MotoGP 23.

What is MotoGP 22?

MotoGP 22

Revving up the engines of excitement and anticipation, MotoGP 22 blasts onto the racing scene like a finely-tuned machine. As the tenth installment in the acclaimed series, it not only delivers heart-stopping thrills, but also introduces a host of innovative features that push the boundaries of two-wheeled racing.

The game debuted in 2022 with a fantastic lineup of over 120 official riders and more than 20 meticulously crafted circuits. The game's most outstanding feature is the game mode (NINE), which takes you on a wild historical ride into the 2009 season. Players get to relive the action of one of the most intense seasons in MotoGP history for the first time. The mode also includes a docu-film that scraps together over 50 minutes of actual footage captured during the 2009 season.

What is MotoGP 23?

MotoGP 23

MotoGP 23 is an upcoming two-wheeler action game from the beloved studio Milestone Interactive. The game will serve as the 11th installment in the racing series, and from the looks of things; it seems to be the best entrant yet.

Each year, the Italian studio strives to unveil new possibilities with every installment. Of course, we expect nothing less, considering Milestone holds the sport's official license.

With respect to its legacy, the upcoming title features similar realistic gameplay to the others before it. To sweeten the pot, the game unveils a wealth of new features that transport you to a virtual era of adrenaline-infused bike action. For instance, career mode makes a return with incredible improvements.

Gameplay

MotoGP 22 Vs MotoGP 23

As mentioned, the series likes to stick to its novel, realistic racing gameplay. The apparent distinction that sets the games apart is the additive features that spruce up the gameplay. MotoGP 22 is one of the most gut-wrenching games in history that really tests your skills and patience. A slight over-steer will send you spinning off the track. It can be a challenging game for novice players, but the rewards are immense once you get the hang of things.

Moreover, the game includes a narrative mode featuring history's greatest players. The mode pays tribute to Valentino Rossi, who raced against Dani Pedrosa, Casey Stoner, and Jorge Lorenzo. You get to control the racing legends as they go head-to-head for the title. As a devotee of the sport, the 2009 season's events are still fresh in my mind, but MotoGP 22 makes the experience more riveting in a virtual space.

In contrast, MotoGP 23 gives its career mode a new perspective with features such as Turning Point. The feature allows you to progress faster with a mid-season jump from Moto2 to MotoGP. What's more, you can form rivalries through a fictional social media app.

Moreover, the upcoming title will also introduce flag-to-flag races. Meaning, players can now swap bikes in the event of weather changes. This adds a bit of strategy to the gameplay, since deciding when to make the switch could either cost you the race or rev you up to victory.

Graphics

Visually, the MotoGP franchise has made significant strides, with each installment pushing the boundaries of graphics and presentation. From face value, you may not easily distinguish how the two games differ graphically. However, a split-screen comparison of both games reveals that 22 performs better with its visual display. The racing action is brighter, and the tracks are rendered with stunning detail, capturing the essence of iconic circuits worldwide.

In contrast, MotoGP 23's inclusion of a dynamic weather system adds another layer of challenge and immersion, with rain-soaked tracks providing a different set of obstacles and strategies.

Multiplayer Options

At the time of launch, cross-platform multiplayer did not feature in MotoGP 22. However, the developers unveiled the feature later on as a post-release update. This would allow players to compete across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles in multiplayer settings.

Thankfully, MotoGP 23 includes this feature from the word go. However, the developers still leave PC and Nintendo Switch players out of the cross-player rubber-burning action.

Verdict

Best Motorcycle Games in 2023

MotoGP 23 is set to launch on June 8, 2023. As it stands, judging which game takes the cake will appear biased, considering we are still waiting to see how the game runs. Notwithstanding, the new features in MotoGP 23 are leaning towards elevated and intense motorcycle racing. Furthermore, you'll get access to a new roster of top-tier riders as you battle it out for the winning title.

On the other hand, if traveling down memory lane gets your gears turning, then MotoGP 22 is a better option. The NINE game mode fine-tunes the racing experience, adding an immersive layer to the greatest time in motorcycle racing. Although I frankly believe they could have come up with a better name for the narrative game mode.

Overall, the MotoGP franchise is a shining example of excellence in motorcycle racing video games. With its dedication to realism, it offers an unrivaled experience for fans of the sport. Whether you're a die-hard MotoGP enthusiast or a casual gamer looking for high-speed thrills, the franchise consistently delivers the excitement and intensity that make it a true gem in the world of racing games.
