Best Games Like MotoGP 23

In anticipation of MotoGP 23‘s release on June 8th, 2023, you may want to put your bike racing skills to the test before competing with riders from all over the world. And, with MotoGP 23 featuring cross-play multiplayer for the first time, the stakes for who wins the racing championship will be even higher.

While the MotoGP series remains arguably the best bike racing game in the genre, there are other games that provide a similar rush of adrenaline. These games strive to incorporate the same top-tier realism, graphics, and gameplay as MotoGP, but with a slight twist that distinguishes them.

If you enjoy the MotoGP series and are looking for games that offer a similar experience, here are the best games like MotoGP 23 to start.

5. Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame

Monster Energy Supercross – Launch Trailer | PS4

Warm up your engines, and head on over to Monster Energy Supercross. This motorcycle racing series is like the safari rally version of car racing. So, players who love to leave the fancy circuits behind and jump into off-road racing will feel right at home here. Monster Energy Supercross is arguably the best off-road motorcycle racing championship worldwide.

The latest edition, called Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 6, was released on March 9th, 2023. Last year, around the same time, Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 6 was out. These annual releases are a great way to always have something to look forward to every year. At least ahead of MotoGP 23’s release. Plus, they dare you to try something different.

Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 6 features an all-new, expansive free-form environment. In it, there are different, distinct areas to race in, including a quarry, a peak, an airport, and more. Furthermore, it simulates the official 2022 Supercross championship, so you can expect to access some of Supercross’ best-known riders, the most iconic teams and bikes, and official tracks. If racing on dirt bikes sounds exciting to you, then Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 6 is the perfect game for you.

4. MXGP 2021: The Official Motocross Videogame

MXGP The Official Motocross Videogame - Launch Trailer

MXGP is also an annual game series that simulates the FIM Motocross World Championship. For a time, the series faithfully released new titles every year. However, MXGP 2021 seems to be the last annual release on November 30th, 2021. Granted, developer Milestone, was juggling MXGP 2021, MotoGP 22, Monster Energy Supercross 5, and SBK 22. It made sense for Milestone to drop further development of MXGP 2022 to focus on Monster Energy Supercross 6.

At the moment, the future of MXGP continues to hang in the balance. However, up until the last release, MXGP has firmly held its ground in providing realistic, two-wheeled racing experiences. MXGP 2021, in particular, still provides a wholesome experience. There are more than 40 riders to choose from. Additionally, you have access to official FIM Motocross World Championship dirt bikes and teams.

3. RIDE 4

Ride 4 | Next Gen Trailer | PS4, PS5

Also from developer Milestone, RIDE 4 is well-known among fans of motorcycle racing. It features a fully dynamic weather system and a complete day/night cycle. It also has more than 200 officially licensed bikes to choose from. Plus, a variety of dozens of real-world tracks from all around the world. Perhaps the best thing about RIDE 4 is its fully customizable vehicles and riders. You can break down a motorcycle into parts, and build it from the ground up with items you prefer, as well as alter the rider’s outfits to suit your taste.

Although RIDE 4 isn’t based on a real-life worldwide championship race, it still aims to achieve the same level of competitive realism as other annual simulations. Each detail is intricately designed to mimic real-life tracks as closely as possible. As a result, RIDE 4 creates surreal experiences that feel like you’re at the heart of the race, competing against other players worldwide at lightning-fast speeds.

2. RiMS Racing

RiMS Racing - Launch Trailer

RiMS Racing is a motorcycle simulation that features realistic races, infused with engineering and mechanics. Players have access to the most powerful bikes. You can hop onto a +200hp motorcycle and race across world-famous tracks. Additionally, players keep up with maintenance and upgrades off-track. That way, they can optimize their bike’s performance against other players.

It’s a great way to focus not only on racing but also on the behind-the-scenes of world championships. You’ll need to consider factors like brake disc temperature, tire wear and tear, trajectory, traction, speed, and more, to create a tactical, unique style of racing. Depending on the factors you feel you’re lacking, players then head on over to the workshop and optimize the bike accordingly.

Combining racing and a mechanic's management system can go any number of ways. However, it works perfectly in RiMS Racing. Players cultivate a special love and care for their bikes, gradually building them up to become their dream bikes.

1. Trials Rising

Trials Rising Launch Trailer - Try Again!

If you like extreme action and physics-bending bike racing, try Trials Rising. This racing game takes you to exotic locations to challenge you to absurd obstacle races and crown the fastest rider to cross the finish line. There are more than 125 tracks to choose from, plus the option to bring your friends along for the ride.

Despite the challenging obstacle courses, Trials Rising is a pick-and-play title that grows harder with time. It’s packed with lots of fun in the process, performing the wildest stunts in areas like the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, and everywhere in between.

If you’d like to raise the stakes even higher, try the Tandem bike's new feature addition that challenges two riders to control one bike. It’s an absolutely hilarious addition that adds to the stunning comeback Trials Rising makes. There are more tracks than ever to choose from, more features to explore, and a fresh take on Trials at its best.
