Gotham Knights: Irish Retailer Teases April 2022 Release

Updated on

Ever since Gotham Knights was first introduced to the gaming scene back in 2020, fans have been badgering WB Games Montréal for a release date. Or, at least a release month, as opposed to just 2022. Unfortunately, neither the fans nor the DC fanatics have prevailed against the tight-lipped developer, meaning we aren't any closer to digging up the figures than we were two years ago.

Turns out now, of course, that Gotham Knights is supposed to release on April 24, 2022. Well, that's going by an Irish retailer, anyway. Highly unlikely, of course. But it has definitely piqued our interest, considering the fact WB Games originally said the game would release in 2022.

Chances are, it's just a placeholder. Speaking from the heart, we're almost certain it's a placeholder. Video games never sprout up from the blue—especially ones of such high caliber. And so, it's probably best not to go booking annual leave from work just yet. Gotham Knights is coming. Just not in seven weeks.

What is Gotham Knights?

Gotham Knights is a brand-new open-world, third-person action RPG featuring the Batman Family as players step into the roles of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin, a new guard of trained DC Super Heroes who must rise up as the protectors of Gotham City in the wake of Batman's death,” the blub reads.

“An expansive, criminal underworld has swept through the streets of Gotham, and it is now up to these new heroes to protect the city, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. Players must save Gotham from descent into chaos and reinvent themselves into their own version of the Dark Knight.”
