What is Dragon is Dead?

Dragon Is Dead - Teaser Trailer

Dragon is Dead is a new hack-and-slash roguelike role-playing game by Blade Assault video game developers, Team Suneat. PM Studios will release the side-scrolling action platformer, providing the roguelite action RPG fandom with a fantastic title that combines Castlevania, Dead Cells, and Diablo gameplay. However, you should note that the game simply picks up a few elements from these titles, and is in no way a sequel to any of them. In fact, the developers of these titles are different.

Upon the game’s release, fans will be embroiled in an epic showdown. Players will battle demons, monsters, and giant bosses created by the main antagonist, Guernian, and save the survivors. Interested fans can already wishlist the title on Steam.

Story

story

Dragon is Dead’s story is about a world of dragons with a dark dragon leader who is corrupting the land after joining the evil side of the gods. All the dragons that attempted to challenge the gods have fallen, leaving Guernian as the lone survivor. Consequently, Guernian turns to the dark side and becomes the leader of the dark dragons, who are now contaminating the land with their rift.

Playing the main protagonist, who is now mad and filled with range for Guernian, you will be tasked with becoming the dragon slayer and ending Gernian’s evil ways. Battle down the scary monsters that Guernian has created and slay Guernian to free the survivors from their anguish.

Gameplay

The game features intense battles as you take on Guernian and his giant foes, monsters, and demons in a thrilling, fast-paced, customizable combat system. Players who master opponents' patterns can exploit their weaknesses and defeat them with ease. You can choose a character from a variety of options, but each character comes with a unique playstyle and combat abilities.

Each character will have a skill tree that you progress through, along with equipment and dragon tongue-runes. The runes amplify your skills and equipment powers and unlock more possibilities. Some unique characters have different skill builds.

And if you feel the available armor isn’t serving you right, craft your own using the runes collected from the fallen enemies. You can also equip your character with artifacts that unleash different synergies based on the combinations you gather. The game will follow a permadeath system, but should you die, you will still retain the power of the equipment crafted or unlocked.

In every round of gameplay, you will encounter different events, foes, and levels, giving you a fresh and unpredictable run. The game’s system will always keep you on your toes as you anticipate the next turn. Players will also stumble upon hidden areas, secrets, and phenomenal Easter Eggs, bearing rewards for players’ curiosity and adventure. Just don’t be afraid to die in your quest to save your kind. Arm yourself with powerful equipment, perfect your skills, and master the patterns of the demons of Guernian to defeat them.
