CD Projekt Red Announce Five New Games

Updated on
CD Projekt Red New Games

CD Projekt Red has just broken headlines with the announcement of three new Witcher games, a new Cyberpunk title, and a brand new IP. The company also added in a separate post, that they're “adding multiplayer to the majority of future projects, and further expansion of the Group’s franchises in the direction of film and TV.” This is a lot to drop on gamers in one day to say the least, but here is everything you need to know for now.

Details on all of the new titles are scarce following the announcement, but one of the biggest highlights revolves around Orion, the codename for the next Cyberpunk game. Which developers commented “will take the Cyberpunk franchise further and continue harnessing the potential of this dark future universe.” This entry is under development by a brand new CD Projekt studio starting up in the US.

CD Projekt Red also unveiled the curtains on a new and entirely distinct IP, which is going under the codename Hadar. The developers stated on their company blog that they first considered the idea several years ago. “It is important to understand that right now we are still working on basic concepts and laying the groundwork for this new franchise,” said Michael Nowakowski, Board Member responsible for business development.

Both of these new CD Projekt Red games are undoubtedly exciting fans, but it doesn't stop there. The company also revealed three new Witcher games. That's right, not just one but three fully realized titles, which we've got the details on just below.

CD Projekt Red – New Witcher Games Details

The Witcher series is getting three new installments to kick off a new saga in the Franchise. The first game kickstarting the new Witcher era, codenamed Polaris, is already in pre-production. This will be the first of three new games in the series, and “is the beginning of a new saga: we aim to release two more Witcher games after Polaris, creating a new AAA RPG trilogy.” The code names for the games following Polaris are Canis Majoris, and Sirius, which will be released in that order.

According to CD Projekt Red, the new trilogy of games will be released over a “six-year period beginning with the release of Polaris.” They went on to mention that the latter two games, “will be based on Unreal Engine 5, along with the toolset created for Polaris.” That's about all the details they gave for now, but also told fans to expect additional announcements soon. Which we hope is not too soon, as it will take some time for all of this new information to settle in our systems.
