A team of lead developers from CD Projekt Red is relocating to Boston in the United States to establish a new internal studio. The team will oversee the next game's development in the Cyberpunk 2077 series.
The Polish game company has released a detailed schedule listing every game it has planned for the foreseeable future. This featured updates for the Witcher series, a new IP titled “Hadar” and the upcoming Cyberpunk game, code-named “Orion.”
Global PR director at CD Projekt Red, Radek Grabowski revealed that the company would launch a new studio, CD Projekt Red North America. The new studio will oversee its upcoming cyberpunk-based project. The “newly-created Boston hub,” as well as the company's current Vancouver-based staff, will operate from the new studio. Grabowski highlighted that this decision would allow the company to fully tap into the North American talent pool.

The game's quest director, Pawe Sasko, also revealed the news on Twitter. He said he would soon relocate from the Polish offices to the new Boston-based studio. He said he would be part of the team creating the sequel. Additionally, Sasko revealed that “the core team” that worked on the original game will also relocate to launch the new studio.
My chooms, I see you are asking, so I would like to clarify — after the release of #Cyberpunk2077 Phantom Liberty I'm going to focus primarily on the new Cyberpunk 2077 project, code name Orion! 😏🔥 pic.twitter.com/5j537RWqh2

Sasko continued to state that the Boston-based team will collaborate with both the devs in Warsaw and Vancouver teams. According to the developer, the main goal is establishing a partnership between the Warsaw and Vancouver teams to develop “a banging next game.” However, CDPR has not addressed if or how many of its Warsaw employees would relocate to the new studio.
Additionally, Sasko stated that the sequel's development would start after the release of the Phantom Liberty extension. Cyberpunk 2077 launched in 2020 for PC and consoles after three delays.
