Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco has issued a statement acknowledging the various performance problems with the game, particularly with its PC build.

Many Elden Ring gamers experienced poor performance, FPS drops, and crashes when the game first launched. This hasn't always been a problem, but players would undoubtedly prefer their game to run more smoothly.

In less than 24 hours after the game's release, Bandai Namco has already responded in a blog on its website explaining the next steps in resolving the Elden Ring issues.

The post starts with a standard apology prior to actually getting into the specifics of what the fixes we should expect first.

“We are currently experiencing some issues that are preventing the game from playing properly under some conditions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your patience,” the post says.

Bandai Namco stated that it is working constantly on performance-related issues. The developer noted that it was specifically working on the issue players on various PC environments and platforms are experiencing.

“We will be constantly working to improve the game so that it can be played comfortably on various PC environments and platforms,” the statement read in part.

“For the PC version, updating your graphics card drivers to the latest version may significantly improve performance.”

The developer has confirmed that future upgrades would include a few further enhancements.

These include mouse sensitivity difficulties, the PS5 version of the game notsaving correctly, and Easy Anti-Cheat failing to launch.

Finally, Bandai Namco acknowledged an issue with the game saves if a player turns off a PS5 console unexpectedly while playing or in rest mode. This is clearly a major stumbling block because it effectively stops players from progressing.

The developer will address this in the patch as well.

However, there is a way to temporarily avoid this bug as recommended by the developer.

The publisher advices players to manually save their games progress in the mean time before the new updates come.

“Game data will be saved correctly if you quit the game by opening the system menu using the Option button and selecting ‘Quit Game'.”

FromSoftware is yet to announce the release date for these updates. However, we hope the patch arrives sooner.
