Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have released the first trailer for the Elden Ring’s first expansion. The expansion promises to delve deeper into the dark and mysterious world of the Elden Ring.

The three-minute trailer offers a glimpse into the new storylines, environments, and challenges that await players. The DLC features spectral tombstones, haunting wheat fields, foreboding swamps and majestic ruins, and promises to expand the already vast and immersive world of Elden Ring. And what would an Elden Ring trailer be without teasing the formidable adversaries awaiting players at every turn?

According to the developers, players will venture into the Land of Shadow, a realm shrouded by the mysterious Erdtree where the goddess Marika once trod, guided by Empyrean Miquella. Here, they will unravel the world’s dark secrets while encountering fellow travellers, each with their own hidden agendas. The expansion introduces a new world with seamless travel between vast maps, treacherous dungeons, and menacing enemies lurking in the shadows.

Shadow of the Erdtree doesn’t just offer a new narrative and setting; it also brings many gameplay enhancements. New weapons, equipment, skills, and magic will give players more options for customizing their play style. In addition, new enemies and boss encounters promise to challenge even the most seasoned adventurers, while additional plotlines deepen the already rich lore of the Elden Ring.

Players will need the base game to embark on this new journey, with the expansion available in various editions. Alongside the standalone release, Bandai Namco has announced a Game of the Year bundle and Collector’s Edition, which will be available on the release date.

Shadow of the Erdtree will launch on June 21, 2024, on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are now available at $39.99.
