Death Stranding Film

Following a post on X (formerly Twitter) by the A24 crew, the gaming industry should expect the release of a new film embodying Hideo Kojima’s highly acclaimed Death Stranding. The partnership is working on a live-action film following the post-apocalyptic storyline of the game. Presumably, we might get a chance to unravel all that happened in the era between lie and death, pre- and during the apocalypse phenomenon.

This news comes in a week after revealing their latest game project in development, OD at the 2023 The Game Awards premier. The upcoming title is going to feature horror-themed gameplay and adventures. The same creator is taking center stage, together with the renown film producer, A24, to develop a film for one of his greatest creations, Death Stranding.

What is the Death Stranding Movie About?

Unfortunately, at the time, the announcement did not give intimate details on what the film might contain. Neither did it tell us the stage to which the development is at or its likely timeline for release.

However, Kojima acknowledges through their website post that; “The film promises to delve into the mysteries surrounding the apocalyptic event called the Death Stranding, which blurred the lines between life and death, and brought forth nightmarish creatures into a world on the brink of collapse.”

Death Stranding follows the main character, Sam Porter Bridges, played by the talented actor Norman Reedus. It is still unclear whether the film will feature the same talents or even game characters.  However, seeing that Kojima is planning to portray the pre-apocalyptic era, it will be fun to see how they revive Sam Porter Bridges' storyline.

With little known, we are hoping for a masterpiece from the two revolutionary franchises.

So, what’s your take? Do you believe that the Death Stranding film is going to be as lit as the game? What aspects would you enjoy seeing in the film? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.
