unreal engine 5 developers leak

A recent post by Canadian video game journalist Geoff Keighley revealed several developers that are confirmed to use Unreal Engine 5.

The tweeted collage of developers features household names such as PlayStation Studios and Xbox Game Studios. The collage also features indie developers such as 11-bit studios and Devolver Digital. It is unclear how comprehensive the tweeted list is. However, the list will definitely grow as Unreal Engine 5’s presence becomes more felt in the gaming industry.

Since the reveal of Unreal Engine 5, many developers and gamers have been excited to lay their hands on it. Given its immense benefits, the recently released game engine could see heavy usage in this console generation.

In comparison to other video game engines, Engine 5 is a more accessible and reliable modern engine. This particular feature resulted in CD Projekt Red picking it up over their long-running REDengine.

Furthermore, game developers have great options for implementing geometry, realistic lighting, crowds, and more into their upcoming titles. There have been various tech demos that have depicted Engine 5’s capacity to create life-like worlds.

One such successful tech demo was the viral Matrix Awakens demo. It will be interesting to see how different game developers approach visual design with this feature in mind. It will especially be interesting to see how developers that implement less artistic art styles, such as Gearbox Entertainment, will be impacted by Engine 5. Unreal Engine 5 also offers the promise of making old games look as good or even better than new ones.

Video game fans can count on the impressive and unique array of titles set for release in the next few years as more and more developers take up Unreal Engine 5.

So, what’s your take? Which developer would you like to join Unreal Engine 5? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
