Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Will Have Full Cross-Play Compatibility at Launch

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will have crossplay on all platforms, including PlayStation, according to Gearbox Software. While this may appear to be standard news, Gearbox Software mistakenly excluded Playstation owners from accessing crossplay with other platforms while developing Borderlands 3

The developer has been able to work with Sony on the release of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, and instead of leaving crossplay out of the game, it will be included.

Gearbox Software CEO and President Randy Pitchford announced on Twitter that the game will fully support cross-play on all platforms. The game will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later this month. As a result, users from all systems can play co-op together.

Pitchford revealed that Sony, Gearbox, and 2K Games collaborated on the project in order to enable crossplay on the platform.

He went on to thank the Tiny Tina's Wonderlands developers for making crossplay possible. Developers explained the difficulties of crossplay on PlayStation in 2019. However, crossplay will launch with the game later this month.

Tina's Wonderlands is even better because it supports a four-player co-op. Playing with your friends and family will be a snap thanks to the two-player split-screen on PS4 and Xbox One. Additionally, it supports a four-player split-screen on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

This is fantastic news for the business. Especially because Sony has allegedly used unscrupulous practices in the past when it comes to PS4 and PS5 crossplay. Sony was rumored to be charging publishers to enable crossplay on PlayStation systems last year.

It's not clear how Gearbox Software and Sony made Tiny Tina's Wonderlands crossplay operate at the moment. It is, nevertheless, positive news for the game and its user base. When it launches next week on the 25th of March for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, players can expect the entire experience.
