In hindsight, Freebird Games has a lot of work cut out for them. First, the Just A To the Moon Series Beach Episode is slated to release sometime at the end of 2023. Plus, the To The Moon animated film, for which we’re still waiting for a concrete update on the release date. To be fair, the latter still doesn’t have confirmation of the studio that’ll be working on it. In fact, no updates have come through in two years, so perhaps it’s fallen through.

Still, Freebird Games never hesitates to keep its fanbase up to date on new projects. I mean, after the showstopper run of the previous To the Moon games, it’s exciting to see the studio challenge itself by developing a new RPG. They’re back, and with a banger, we can’t wait to get our hands on. So, what’s cooking exactly? Tag along as we explore everything we know about the upcoming The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG.

What is The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG?

The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG

The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG is an upcoming turn-based RPG depiction of the To the Moon series. Freebird Games is currently working on developing and publishing the game. It’s a side project that aims to scratch the itch for an RPG rendition of To the Moon. However, with the myriad of other projects Freebird is committed to, they’ve slated the playthrough as only an epic one-hour experience.

Gameplay

Based on the game’s Steam store page, The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG plans to pick up where the To the Moon series left off. Except, this time, it’ll take the form of a turn-based RPG. The new adventure will run over a span of one hour. You'll take charge of all the major characters in the To The Moon series.

Each character will have special abilities: Eva’s “It Has the Juice,” Rob’s “Illusionary Blade,” Neil’s “Take it to the Face,” and Roxie’s “Cattling Gun.” The mission will be split into sections. Each one will possibly have a mini-boss to contend with. At the end of the venture, players will face the final big boss awaiting them at the top of the tower.

You’ll also need to solve puzzles along the way as you advance across the lighthouse-shaped dungeon to the top.

Development

Freebird Games is currently working on developing and publishing The Last Hour of an Epic TO THE MOON RPG. While we’ve received little updates from the studio itself, Kan Gao, owner and lead developer of Freebird Games, has been generous on his YouTube page with new information on the development progress so far.

While Kan Gao wanted a full-on 100-hour-long RPG, the developing team simply had too much on their hands to bring it to fruition. And so, the studio settled on an epic one-hour playthrough that promises to blow your mind away.
