Silent Hill 2 Remake Has Been Confirmed

Updated on

Konami has finally lifted the veil on the future of Silent Hill 2 after remaining dormant for the best part of a decade.

After ten long and daunting years in the shadows, Silent Hill has finally made a striking comeback. Thanks to Konami streaming a relatively short but content-heavy transmission over on YouTube, fans of the series now have something to look forward to. And boy, what a transmission it was.

Announced at long last, Silent Hill 2 will be rebooted exclusively for PlayStation 5. The game, which will build on the best-selling 2001 original, will also include new music, new challenges, and new concept art. To this end, the upcoming game will serve as more of a remake, which will look to capture the same essence that made the double-decade old title the cult classic that it was.

As far as gameplay goes, Konami has yet to shed light on anything. That said, we can probably expect some sort of sneak preview over the coming months. And as far as a release window goes, that's anybody's guess. But if we had to put a pin on it, then we'd put a rough 2023 slate on it.

Of course, you can follow the official Silent Hill social handle here for more information. If, for whatever reason, anything pops up in the meantime, we'll be sure to let you know right here on gaming.net.

So, what's your take? Is there anything that piqued your interest during the Silent Hill transmission? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
