Park Beyond: Best Tips for Beginners

It’s so amazing how the seemingly gazillion activities in an amusement park keep on running without fault. Even when someone gets sick or a roller coaster ride breaks down. Somehow, everything will soon go back up and running, almost like nothing ever happened. Suppose, you’re given the responsibility of overseeing an entire theme park. To not only manage the day-to-day activities in the park but also design the whole place? It doesn’t sound like an easy job, does it?

Starting Park Beyond, an amusement park building and management simulation game, from scratch is a tough venture for anyone. Sure, you can learn the ropes on your own, but that can take too much time to want to give up mid-way. But, see, there’s so much fun to be had in Park Beyond. However, that’s only possible the moment you do away with the technicalities and get down to business. Consequently, we’ve done all the heavy lifting for you. With these Park Beyond: best tips for beginners, nothing should stand in your way of becoming a theme park overlord.

5. Don’t Skip the Campaign

There isn’t a rule that says you must start with the campaign before jumping into sandbox mode. However, I propose an unwritten rule to start the campaign regardless. It’s understandable that the campaign can feel like it’s dragging out too long. Especially when the sandbox mode is where you can truly let your creativity shine. There’s also the matter of Park Beyond’s campaign not entirely placing too much focus on delivering a stellar story mode that competes with RPG genres.

But, despite all the cons you can think of, the campaign mode remains an extremely essential component of your gaming experience. It’s where you find out the reason for building a theme park in the first place. Where you meet a bunch of quirky characters that are sure to light up your day. Even the missions themselves carry an impressive level of comical events that make your experience much more tolerable.

Most of all, the campaign mode serves as the “silent” tutorial to learn the ropes properly before diving into the sandbox. It takes you through eight missions that increase in difficulty. Each one shows you a new control system for building the infrastructure in your park. The first mission will show you how to build your first roller coaster. The next shows you how to navigate a woody area. By the end of the campaign, you will have learned most (if not all) of the mechanics you need to thrive in the sandbox.

4. Hire Staff to Help You

Managing an amusement park is no joke. So, make sure to hire staff to help you run things smoothly. There are a ton of staff members you can add to your team. You can hire janitors, paramedics, entertainers, and more. It’s up to you to decide how many staff members you want to hire. However, we suggest hiring a good number from each category. Ultimately, they are available to cater to a specific task, ensuring your customers remain happy.

While at it, remember to build your staff members a lounge where they can go to rest. Since they’ll be walking around all day, you want them to operate at maximum capacity. And lastly, feel free to fire any staff member you feel isn’t doing their job very well. You cannot exactly keep track of each one on the ground. However, the menu does give you stats on each staff member’s efficiency, energy, experience, and more.

3. Check Out the Heat Map

The ultimate goal of running an amusement park is to keep your customers happy. So, make sure to open up the heat map every once in a while to see how satisfied your guests are. The heat map is pretty efficient at giving you detailed information on your guests’ overall experience. It even allows you to filter the results into categories like “toilet” and then assess which of your guests are in need of a bathroom.

2. Impossify Whenever You Can

It’s a waste to play Park Beyond and not use its best feature: impossify. Impossification allows you to make something or someone perform an action that would be impossible for them to do in real life. You’ll have to wait for the impossify meter to fill up before using it. Once it does, you can impossify a ride, shop, staff member, and basically anything within the confines of your park.

If you impossify a ride, it’ll do an impossible thing that defies gravity. And, as a result, your guests will be happier, and your stats will increase. Impossifying a shop will build an extension to the shop that offers an additional, spectacular service. While impossifying, a staff member will do something like add the exceptional gear they can use to deliver the most stellar performance, faster than usual.

1. Manage Your Finances

Lastly, you want to keep an eye on your finances. The goal is to ensure that you’re making profits to sustain the amusement park. Otherwise, the park will close down. Managing your finances starts from the beginning, when you have a budget to try to stick to. From then on, you need to make sure that you bring in enough income to cover the expenses while leaving you some profit. Thereafter, you need to reinvest your profits in the park to ensure that you make even more money.

A lot of effort will go into pricing your rides appropriately. You can increase ticket prices for popular attractions, for example. Or, place more food stalls near the area to earn more revenue. The heat map will come in handy here to see where guests are most happy. If you find sore spots, make sure to solve the cause. The idea is to continue to adapt your park to your guests' likes and dislikes, constantly understanding them as consumers and delivering exceptional service to their satisfaction.
