New Games on Steam: Mid June
New Games on Steam is back, and this week we went super sci-fi on your ass. We talk about creating intricate factory systems in different galaxies, colonizing Mars, and what it takes to create a perfect spaceship. Also, we take a look at 2 promising adventures.
Satisfactory
First, we have an interesting jack-of-all-trades. Satisfactory is an open-world game that juggles between simulation, strategy, and adventure. In its roots, however, this is a building game similar to Factorio. Factory-building is very intricate, with tons of customizations that don't get old anytime soon. Furthermore, Satisfactory offers over 30km of surface for exploration, where you will harvest materials, fauna, and defeat creatures. If you are into this genre, Satisfactory should be a no-brainer.
Journey
Journey throws you in a beautiful ancient world filled with ruins, where a sense of mystery follows at every step. The game has simple mechanics, which lets you fully focus on the atmosphere it creates. Journey also features amazing music, which pairs nicely with visuals. Although this is a short game, there's a lot of hidden treats that will make you want to play it again and again.
Evan's Remains
Now, how about a refreshing puzzle adventure with a dash of mystery? In Evan's Remains, you play as a girl named Dysis who decides to look for a genius boy called Evan after receiving a weird letter. The beauty of the game is that both story and puzzles are beautifully executed. New game mechanics are constantly introduced, so the game always feels fresh and engaging. All in all, Evan's Remains is a carefully crafted Indie adventure that's perfect for casual players.
Mars Power Industries
If you've ever dreamt of creating your own colonies on Mars, better pay attention. MPI is a minimalistic turn-based puzzle game that will entertain you for an hour. The game is fairly intuitive and radiates chill atmosphere, which is exactly what you want from a casual Indie title.
Space Scavenger
Lastly, let's talk about an addictive arcade. In Space Scavenger, you will design your perfect spaceship from scratch and fight through waves of enemies on your way home. It may not sound much, but throw in roguelike elements, aggressive enemies, and real-time upgrading, and the thing sounds much better. Space Scavenger brings just the right amount of challenge, but, more importantly, it's just really fun.
Think these games are lame and you'd rather play Tetris? Before doing that, you might check out the last installment of New Games on Steam here.
