Invincible Presents: Atom Eve — Everything We Know
Skybound Games and developer Terrible Posture have announced their plans to bring Atom Eve of Robert Kirkman’s Invincible comic book series to an exciting new visual novel for PC. About time, too, what with the tritagonist having little to no extensive character development arc since Amazon Prime adapted the written volumes into an exclusive series. And honestly, what better way to boost the hype for the upcoming second season of Invincible than to conjure a standalone video game highlighting one of its best heroes? It was a shot well called, and one that’ll look to find its target by the end of 2023, apparently.
So, what more do you need to know about the upcoming visual novel, other than its association with the Teen Team and Kirkman’s comic book series? Well, here’s everything we’ve been able to collect on the project since first hearing of its existence a week or so back. If it’s a pinch of Atom Eve you’re after — then you’ve only just gone and stumbled upon the Holy Grail.
What Is Invincible Presents: Atom Eve?
Invincible Presents: Atom Eve is an upcoming visual novel by Terrible Posture Games, creator of Tower of Guns. It’ll be the first “original” story in the Invincible video game series, and will follow the tritagonist hero Atom Eve, as depicted in the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, and Cory Walker. It’s worth pointing out there that, unlike Ubisoft’s upcoming adaptation, Invincible: Guarding the Globe, which will dabble along a similar wavelength as the Amazon Prime series, Atom Eve will serve as more of a fitting tribute for the comic books.
“Invincible Presents: Atom Eve is the first original Invincible game from Skybound Games, the creator-led company behind Invincible and The Walking Dead,” the elevator pitch reads. “Experience an original story with striking art directed by Rossi Gifford and creative direction by award-winning writer Jill Murray, and explore the life of Atom Eve in a world filled with beloved characters. Based on the comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley.”
Anyway, with all that out of the way, what more do we need to know about Atom Eve? Will there be a whole new plot to unravel, or will it simply retrace all the same stories as the comic books, but in video game form? Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Story
Atom Eve will follow the one and only Samantha Wilkins, otherwise known by her superhero pseudonym, Atom Eve, as she attempts to balance everyday life with her fledgling Teen Team persona. As an up-and-coming superhero in the Invincible universe, players will need to navigate the obstacles of two lives — the latter half being the one that carries the weight of the known world on its shoulders.
“Get to know Eve like never before as she navigates her life with the Teen Team, her family, and her friends while figuring out the best way to use her incredible powers as a force for good,” the blurb reads. “Invincible Presents: Atom Eve is a game based on the Invincible comic books and animated series where super powers can have a real impact on human bodies and the world around us.” Heavy stuff.
Gameplay
A visual novel at heart, Atom Eve will depict the life of the aspiring superhero through the power of interactive cutscenes—moments in which you will need to make game-changing choices that will not only change the fate of your own future, but of those around you, too.
“Your choices shape your relationships with the people around you and will define the outcome of the story across multiple paths,” the descriptions expands. “Choose how to develop Atom Eve’s skills and increase her power, unlock special combat skills, or choose to unlock unique dialogue options to further play your story, your way.”
There’ll also be phases of light turn-based combat, too—“vivid action that feels like a comic book come to life.” In said moments, you will need to use Atom Eve’s untapped powers to explore new strategies and techniques to help whittle down the forces that dare to threaten the peace.
Development
Invincible Presents: Atom Eve was revealed in tandem with Skybound Games’ Invincible: Guarding the Globe, yet another idle RPG that’ll look to boost the hype in anticipation of Amazon Prime Video’s second season. Unlike Ubisoft’s fresh take on the franchise, though, Atom Eve will stay true to the comic books, and will in turn deliver a convincing portrayal of the characters and action as seen in the published volumes by Kirkman and the Skybound squad.

Thanks to San Diego Comic Con, we do have just a sliver of footage to keep us on tenterhooks while Terrible Posture continues to iron out the creases. You can check it out for yourself in the trailer embedded above.
Release Date, Platforms & Editions
Invincible Presents: Atom Eve will be heading to PC via Steam at some point in 2023. As for when in 2023 it’ll hit the shelves has yet to be confirmed, though judging by the second season’s air date of November 3, 2023, chances are it’ll arrive at a similar time — if not before as a way to amplify the hype for Prime’s second season, then after, perhaps to lay the foundations for a potential third season. Either way, it’ll be coming out before year’s end. So that’s something.
While we can’t say for certain whether or not there’ll be any console ports due out anytime soon, the possibility is definitely there. As for whether or not it’ll shed it Steam exclusivity before the end of 2023 is another question. Safe to say though that, if you’re hoping to get first dibs on Atom Eve, then we wouldn’t recommend putting your hopes on Xbox or PlayStation receiving a copy. Or at least, not yet, anyway.
