Gameplay:

While “Far Cry 5” was set in Hope County, Montana (where you go against cult leader of Eden’s Gate, Joseph Seed) to liberate the community, “Far Cry 6,” is set in the fictitious island nation of Yara. A post on the “Ubisoft blog” by Navid Khavari (the Narrative Director) reassured fans that “Far Cry 6” will include “hard, relevant discussions.”

The research for “Far Cry 6” is done on those who fought revolutions in the late 1950s, 1960s, and beyond. With that pointed out, this game is a story about modern revolution, where the conditions in lead to the rise of fascism, forced labor, imperialism, LGBTQ+ rights, need for free-and-fair elections, etc.

For the past 62 years, Yara has been an analogue for Cuba under its communist regime. Anton Castillo is promising to restore the island nation of Yara that was once prosperous and is grooming his son to become the next presidente.

Rebels threaten to destroy all that Anton has built, but Anton will protect his paradise by using any tactic necessary, even if that means sacrificing some of his innocent citizens. Dani Rojas is a character that can be played as a male or female. Dani is a Yara native and Guerilla fighter (who has firsthand experience in Anton’s rule). Now, she joins Libertad (a ragtag group of guerilla fighters with the objective of liberating their home).

Pair up with animal companions like Chorizo (a weiner dog) and Guapo (Juan’s pet crocodile). Have your own arsenal prepared to take down Anton’s troops.
