Audiences will definitely remember s1mple's touching message during the IEM Katowice tournament. CS: GO star Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev gave a heart-warming speech on February 25, after his team Natus Vincere was defeated by G2 Esports. While on stage, the Ukrainian player delivered an emotional plea for world peace and unity.

Days after this, an Instagram story on s1mple's account states that he has donated around $33,000 to the Ukrainian army. This is equivalent to 1 million in Ukrainian hyrvnia. Apart from the Instagram story, NBA broadcaster Vitalii Volochai reported that s1mple has made donations to support Ukrainian forces.

Since last week, the Russian forces have been invading Ukraine. Under Russian President Vladimir Putin's orders, a “special military operation” is being carried out. So far, the invasion has cost hundreds of lives and displacement of thousands of people. Russian forces still continue to invade various parts of Ukraine.

Ever since the conflict broke out, popular CS: GO streamer and e-athlete s1mple, has been actively tweeting about it. And now he has followed up with a series of donations.

s1mple hails from Ukraine and plays for Natus Vincere, an esports organization based in Kyiv. The CS: GO star spent much of his last week at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice tournament.

After the match between G2 Esports and Natus Vincere, s1mple, in his touching message, said,

“All of us want peace—for Ukraine, and for the whole world. All of us are scared, and all of us need to show an example at this tournament. We need to stay together as a unit, with our fans, with our friends, and with everybody watching. And we all need to stay humans first.”

This is not the first time that s1mple has donated his money for a cause. In 2018, the esports player donated all his monetary rewards from FACEIT Pro League to MovemberUK, a men's health charity. The exact amount was never revealed.
