Choose How You Investigate In Sherlock Holmes Chapter 1

“Frogwares” has more for the norm to investigate with the thriller, “Sherlock Holmes Chapter One,” the video game. Regardless if you love or hate detectives, everyone at some point had a Sherlock Holmes moment, where they wanted to discover the truth. The planned release date is some time in 2021 for the following platforms: “PS4 (PlayStation 4),” “PS5 (PlayStation 5),” “Xbox Series X/S,” and “Microsoft Windows.” 

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional, antisocial character created by Scottish writer, Arthur Conan Doyle. The private detective character known as Sherlock, first appeared in “A Study in Scarlet,” (which was published in Beeton's Christmas Annual of 1887). 

If you did not know, Holmes is actually based off of Dr. Joseph Bell (one of Conan Doyle’s medical school professors). The voice actor of Sherlock Holmes in “Sherlock Holmes Chapter One” is Alex Jordan. It is only the first chapter, so there has to be another one. Maybe this game can be like some music videos with the message reading, “To be continued” at the end and never have a continuation.

Story: 

“Sherlock Holmes Chapter One” is about a young Sherlock struggling to prove himself as he navigates an exotic, dangerous island in the Mediterranean. For what would he travel so far for? Why is it any of his business? Sherlock is just investigating the mystery of his mother’s death. 

Gameplay: 

If not a vast majority of us, all of us know who Sherlock Holmes is and how he uses his observation skills to solve mysteries. In the gameplay, your legacy is determined by your choices. Either you can use brute force to solve problems or use the classic tactic of staying one step ahead. Your Arsenal consists of violence, deception, and deduction.

Based on your deduction and moral choices, all of the main quests and most side quests will have different outcomes. We will get to see Holmes get his hands dirty with combat fighting. These criminals have to confess somehow, but Sherlock should know if they are truly criminals. 

According to the “Frogwares.com” website, disguising yourself will be a tactic in the game where you can buy new outfits. You can gain the trust of various social groups, gain access to closed off areas, and/or customize how you look (changing your outfits, hats, facial hair, glasses, and more).

Also, there is the option of decorating the mansion, buying items from vendors or receiving items as rewards. “Sherlock Holmes Chapter One is the prequel to “Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.” On Twitter, the developers mentioned showing a longer preview of “Chapter One.”
