If variety was a game, it would be Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Not only are the weapons from the original game back, reworked, and revamped to pack that extra crunch, but also new weapons introduced in the 2.0 Update and Phantom Liberty expansion. You really are spoilt for choice, which can be a great thing for experiment junkies or an overwhelming thing for others.

Worry not, though. We’ve scoured the Black Market Vendors weapons, main quest weapons, airdrop weapons, and even the side gig ones. We’ve also placed iconic weapons, power weapons, tech weapons, and smart weapons side by side to compare and contrast their true potential. Among all katanas, AI guns, sniper rifles, shotguns, handguns, knives,… you name it, here are the best weapons in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty we could find.

5. Sasquatch’s Hammer

Cyberpunk 2077

Some gamers like swords and katanas. Others like pistols. You, on the other hand, can try your hand at the Sasquatch’s Hammer heavy-hitting, two-handed melee weapon. The hammer featured on the 2.0 Update trailers. Having checked it out post-launch, it’s easy to see why. It packs that extra punch, sending a rush of adrenaline when battling with enemies in close quarters. What’s more? It’s not restrictive for the user. You can deliver a devastating blow on targets by riding from your bike and slamming their hammer on their faces.

For all its benefits, though, the Sasquatch’s Hammer weapon is quite slow and bulky. That makes it great for crowd control. However, sometimes a katana is just the preferred type coming next up on the list.

How to Get Sasquatch’s Hammer

You’ll need to fight Sasquatch to loot the hammer. Make sure to get it when Sasquatch throws the hammer at you. Otherwise, you won’t be able to get the hammer if you incapacitate her. Alternatively, you can complete the entire “I Walk the Line” quest in stealth to loot the hammer. Easy peasy.

4. Errata Thermal (Katana)

Cyberpunk 2077 - New Iconic Thermal Katana ERRATA | Update 2.0 (Location & Guide)

On its own, a powerful katana does wonders on the battlefield. But add flames to its sharp blade, and you have yourself an unstoppable force. The Errata Thermal is perfect for players who like to get up close and personal with their opponents. It not only had a sharp blade that cut through enemies but also a burning effect that inflicted critical damage. You may already know it as the Thermal Katana. But the Errata Thermal one is an upgraded, iconic version of that weapon you definitely want in your corner.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty rates the Errata Thermal Katana as a top-tier 5+ iconic weapon. It has an attack speed of 2.12. However, its attack speed only scratches the surface of Errata’s possibilities. With a whopping 119.48 damage per hit, the Errata brutally dismembers enemies, leaving no one left to tell the tale. It also has a 6.40 stamina cost, which is easily manageable for all its worth.

On the perks front, Errata has an increased armor penetration level by 25%, which means enemies with heavy armor will be a piece of cake to take down. It also has an increased burn chance by 30%, such that if you swing the katana at enemies, it will ignite flames on enemies and deal critical damage they can’t come back from.

How to Get Errata

There are two places you can get the Errata Thermal Katana. The first is buying it at the Black Market Vendor for 110,638 credits. The second is to get it from the Electric Company premises.

3. Dying Night (Pistol)

Cyberpunk 2077 how to unlock Dying night iconic weapon

Dying Night is your go-to melee weapon if you like to get up close and personal with targets but would also choose a gun over any other weapon all day. The Dying Night pistol overthrows Carmen with its staggering increased headshot damage of 125%. Additionally, you can also make good use of its increased armor penetration by 25%, stripping away enemies with heavy armor with ease.

How to Get Dying Night

Head on over to Robert Wilson’s gun shop in Megabuilding H10 to get Dying Night.

2. Nekomata (Sniper Rifle)

Cyberpunk 2077 - How To Get Legendary Nekomata Sniper Rifle (Legendary Tech Weapons)

A sniper rifle is a must-have for high-stakes missions, and the Nekomata is likely your best bet. It’s a tech weapon that deals a whopping 115 damage-per-hit ratio. With a damage output that intense, the only other thing you need is a good range, which Nekomata has covered with an over 86 effective range.

With Nekomata, it takes one second to recharge. And with the perks it gives, including the +300% headshot damage multiplier and +75% armor penetration, dominating the battlefield should prove as easy as saying “cheese.”

How to Get Nekomata

You should find Nekomata in any shop.

1. Carmen (Assault Rifle)

Get the 2 BEST Iconic Weapons Early - Carmen & Dezerter (Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty)

Next up, we have the Carmen assault rifle, a one-of-a-kind beast on the battlefield you’ll definitely want to have in your corner. Carmen ranks at tier 5, which is still pretty high compared to most weapons. It’s called a “power assault rifle” in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, ranked among the power weapons in the game and offering to do devastating damage to targets on your behalf.

For starters, Carmen offers a 12.5 attack speed rate, much higher than the Errata. It also deals 26.65 damage output, which you can bump up using its increased headshot damage multiplier perk by a whopping 100%. When reloading, Carmen gives you an increased 1.65 reload speed. It also doubles down on effective range by 30 points, making it well-suited to mid and long-range combat encounters.

Besides amplifying damage, Carmen can also penetrate through heavy armor at an increased rate of 50%. So long as you aim at the limbs to enjoy an increased critical hit chance or run, jump, or slide to increase weapon handling, damage, and bleeding, you’ll be good to go.

How to Get Carmen

You can get Carmen either from the Black Market vendor for 99,540 credits.
