Best Handler Build in Remnant 2

Remnant 2 is a Soulslike game, but with guns. By default, you can play as the medic, handler, hunter, or challenger. These archetypes, or classes, offer varied perks, skills, and traits to suit individual play styles. And while you can select an archetype to play solo, you can also choose one to play as part of a team. Among the starter archetypes, the handler, who tags along an adorable yet ferocious canine partner, is the perfect class to offer your team tactical support during battles and healing.

The handler’s abilities are entirely built around his dog companion. So, while the dog can bark to warn you of incoming enemies, you can gain enhanced ranged and skill damage output and movement speed as long as he’s nearby. Additionally, the dog can engage in battle and even go on to revive you and your teammates using a Relic charge whenever you’re knocked down.

With these perks, it’s no question whether the handler is a great class to choose. However, you still want to take advantage of Remnant 2’s weapons, skills, and special accessories like amulets and rings, which are in short supply. For these, you need to find the best build that strengthens your handler’s abilities on the battlefield. So, to start, here are the best handler builds in Remnant 2 to keep an eye out for.

5. Ankh of Power (Amulet)

Ankh of Power Remnant 2

Amulets are accessories that can give you extra buffs on the battlefield. You can loot them from Remnant 2’s world, receive them as rewards for completing random events, or buy them from Ward 13’s merchant shops. With the immense number of over 50 amulets available in Remnant 2 and the restriction to only wear one amulet at a time, it can get pretty overwhelming to pick one.

However, the Ankh of Power makes a good case. It’s a holy symbol unaffected by the Root that can give you a 15% boost on your damage output. If you consume a relic, you can double down on the bonus buff for 15 seconds. Additionally, the amulet regenerates faster whenever your health takes a toll.

How to Find Ankh of Power

Head out to the Ashen Wasteland in Root Earth. You should find it after the second small checkpoint, where you take the stairs of the two-story building up and to the left. The building looks the same as Ward 13.

4. Blooming Heart (Relic)

Relics are consumables that give you extra buffs. However, you can only use them a certain number of times, depending on the charges they have left. While there are 18 relics in Remnant 2, you can equip three at a time, giving you room to experiment with each one. That said, Blooming Heart is a great starting point.

The relic acts as a quick fix to heal yourself. That’s because it can heal you as soon as you consume it. Specifically, you can use it to heal 35% of your maximum health. However, the effects upon consumption only last for five seconds, meaning you have to make the most of it when you’re about to take down a formidable opponent.

Unlike most other relics, Blooming Heart casts three healing orbs upon consumption. These work in pretty much the same way as the Blooming Heart itself, except they are available to use for only 20 seconds. Also note that if you consume the relic again, any remaining orbs will disappear too.

How to Find Blooming Heart

You can find Blooming Heart in Yaesha behind an illusory wall.

3. Chicago Typewriter (Long Gun Weapon)

Chicago Typewriter Remnant 2

The Chicago Typewriter looks a lot like a replica of Tommy Gun. It’s surprisingly handy for short-range fights, with enough ammo capacity to sustain lengthy encounters. It also fires quite rapidly, effectively thinning out herds of enemies in the shortest time.

Sure, Chicago Typewriter isn’t the most accurate, hence a letdown in long-range encounters. However, it has no issue spitting quick-fire leads enough to crowd control and get the job done. If you have too much trouble with accuracy, though, holding down the trigger should solve that issue for you.

How to Find Chicago Typewriter

If you have the Biome Portal Key from the Keeper, you should find it in Leto’s Stash in Ward 13 in the Labyrinth world.

2. Huntress Spear (Melee Weapon)

Huntress Spear Remnant 2

If you’re looking to get up close and personal, then you may want to equip the Huntress Spear. It’s strangely quiet. However, don’t let that fool you because each throw will find its way into the enemy’s heart. After which, the spear will magically return to you.

The Huntress Spear comes already equipped with a weapon mod called the Athibar. This charges the spear with 25 stamina to cut through the air and return graciously to the wielder’s hand.

How to Find Huntress Spear

You’ll need to defeat The Huntress in Losomn. Then, loot the Venerated Spearhead to craft the spear at McCabe. You should already have 7 Lumenite Crystals and 1000 Scraps to complete the crafting process.

1. Leto Mark II Set (Armor Set)

Leto Mark II Set Remnant 2

For protection, you’ll need a reliable armor set. With over 20 armor sets in Remnant 2, it can be tricky to settle on one. However, the Leto Mark II Set is a pretty good choice. It’s an ultra-heavy set that gives you the most optimal protection against enemy attacks.

Its heavy-weight build can make it harder to move quickly. However, with the ridiculously high armor value it provides, it’s a no-brainer whether its good defenses are worth the trouble. For perspective, the Leto Mark II towers at a whopping 168 armor and 90 weight. Meanwhile, other armor sets range from  40-113 armor and 21-61 weight values.

How to Find Leto Mark II Set

You should find the armor set in the same place as the Chicago Typewriter at the Fractured Ingress in the Labyrinth world.
