Best Cards in Marvel Snap: Season 21

Marvel Snap constantly strives to keep its content new and fresh for every gamer. The ongoing Season 21 will run from February 6, 2024, to March 5, 2024. So, there’s no better time to familiarize yourself with the best cards this season and dive fully into the Marvel Universe's latest shenanigans than now.

Tagged the Black Order, or otherwise, Children of Thanos, Season 21 intends to usher in plenty of goodies, including the vengeful Black Swan. You’ll access the Galactic Carnival's time-limited extravaganza of daily challenges with pleasing rewards up to February 17, 2024. Additionally, you’ll experience an Artgerm Variant Takeover of the game’s shop from February 1, 2024, to March 1, 2024.

More changes will feature in Season 21, including tweaks to characters like Beast and the Helicarrier, improvements on certain characters' audio and visual effects, and many more thrilling gameplay updates. But for now, let’s take a look at the best cards in Marvel Snap: Season 21 to scoop up for yourself.

5. Proxima Midnight

Proxima Midnight card

Proxima Midnight is an upcoming card on Season 21 you’ll want on your side. She’s one of the Black Order and Thanos’ underlings, unafraid to wreak havoc on whole planets alongside Thanos. Her greatest strengths are superhuman strength and speed. She can even collapse into a star that creates infinite gravity that can consume Hulk himself.

Proxima Midnight costs four energy and has seven power. However, when discarded, the card jumps to your lowest-power location, provided it isn’t full. This gives Proxima an upper hand. It's a card that gives you an advantage over being discarded – best of both worlds.

4. Cull Obsidian

Cull Obsidian card

The Cull Obsidian is also a more targeted card than Proxima Midnight. It costs four energy and has ten power. Furthermore, it has the ability only to play the card where you have a one-cost card. But don’t be fooled. At first glance, Cull Obsidian seems simplistic. However, he boasts unbreakable skin and nearly unlimited endurance. He also wields blunt-force weapons as massive as his own body.

During play, you don’t have to have a one-cost card already. You can play a one-cost card alongside Cull Obsidian if you like. Alternatively, you can move him to a lane that another one-drop has moved to. Sure. Finding the best cards for the Cull Obsidian deck can be tricky. The Thanos deck can be a good place to start, as can other powerful one-cost cards alongside Black Swan.

3. Corvus Glaive

Corvus Glaive card

Do consider Corvus Glaive, a card that costs three energy and has five power. Its special ability makes it so that on reveal, you can discard two cards from your hand and get +1 Max Energy. That takes the crown in my book. The character is the leader of an elite force of aliens working under Thanos’ command. He’s the right-hand man to the Mad Titan himself. But on the playing field, Corvus Glaive bows to no one. Who doesn’t want extra energy?

It’s unclear whether, like Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive will remain in play. In the event that it does, three energy and five power do seem more attractive to bolster your winning chances. That said, we already have more than enough ways to discard cards. Further, the gain of +1 Max Energy can be nice but not good enough compared to other decks. For instance, more energy can be more useful in Destroy than Discard decks. Still, Corvus Glaive does introduce additional randomness with its discard ability, which can potentially benefit your play.

2. Black Swan

Black Swan card

With all of Black Swan’s people wiped out, she seeks revenge for everything she has lost. She boasts impeccable strength, only matched by her powerful telepathic abilities. Combined, her abilities make her a force to be reckoned with on the playing field. Black Swan is among the new additions to Marvel Snap. It's the Season Pass card, available from Day One, that you’ll want to scoop up as soon as you can to compete on par with other players.

The Black Swan’s card costs three energy and has five power. Its ability is that, on reveal, it makes your one-cost cards cost zero on the next turn. It means that Black Swan is the kind of card that’ll get better and better as new 1-cost cards are released. Consequently, as you can imagine, you want to pair it with decks that have one-cost cards. That way, you can enjoy the freedom to do anything you want, similar to a powerful six-cost card.

You might also want to play her at turn six, as one-cost cards tend to get toppled over easily in the earlier rounds. Optimizing the final turn will give you the element of surprise and increase your chances of winning.

1. Supergiant

Supergiant card in Best Cards in Marvel Snap: Season 21

Supergiant specializes in psychological warfare. He’s a master mental parasite that thrives on telepathic abilities. He can, thus, make others do his bidding and even take over their minds, all at Thanos’ behest. The Supergiant card costs four energy points and has five power points. It also has the secret ability that, on reveal, makes all the cards played at the next turn unable to reveal themselves until the game ends.

It’s a pretty unique perk, quite similar to Invisible Woman, except while Invisible Woman is vulnerable to some cards, Supergiant rules them all. You’ll want to be strategic, though, when unleashing Supergiant’s skill. Ideally, you can thwart your opponent’s plans, who may want to use Leech or Sera on turn five.

Keep in mind that hiding your opponent’s card can play to your opponent's or your benefit. So, to ensure you stay ahead of the game, be sure to tailor your deck around Supergiant. It can be tricky to pull it off. You’ll want to perfectly anticipate your opponent’s gameplay to beat them.
