The Sims 4 Is Getting a Major Overhaul, According to EA

Electronic Arts has finally shed light on The Sims 4 and its plan to overhaul classic NPC characters, promising new personalities, appearances and lore for recurring families.

A household name that immediately springs to mind when we think of The Sims, weirdly enough, is Goth. You know, that cryptic family that have been known for living lavishly in most upmarket estates since day one? Well, the good news is — they're getting a makeover. And they're not the only ones in EA's queue for a clean cut and scrub down package deal, either. In fact, the whole town is about to get some serious R&R. Or so it seems.

Although the release date for the planned makeovers has yet to be confirmed, the team behind the overhaul have already been able to give us an idea of what's to come. In a nutshell, it's a lofty package filled to the brim with minor patches that will alter certain appearances, whether it's to buff up a moustache or add a few extra freckles. Basically, EA is forcing some of our OG Sims to progress with the times, giving them the wrinkles and life experience to go with it. And that only makes sense, considering the Goth's should be like — what — sixty? 

It's about time the Goth's aged, to be fair. It's 2021, you know? Get with the times, Mortimer.

Let's talk Neighborhood Stories

On top of the general makeovers, manicures and what have you, EA is also working towards the Neighborhood Stories bolt-on, which will introduce two new Aspirations and Reward Traits, as well as the ability to influence neighborhood Sims to perform certain actions on others.
