Sony Secures Forever Skies as a PS5 Console Exclusive Set for 2024 Release

Sony Interactive Entertainment has signed a deal with developer Far From Home, locking in the sci-fi survival adventure Forever Skies as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive. The game is set to release in 2024.

Under the agreement revealed on the PlayStation Blog, Sony Interactive Entertainment is providing vital development support and crucial funding. The support supplements the resources available to Far From Home as the developer refines and optimizes Forever Skies for its PS5 debut.

Forever Skies is currently in Early Access for PC players via Steam, which started in June last year.  The game has garnered attention for its immersive first-person post-apocalyptic gameplay. 

Far From Home has reassured its PC community that the deal will not impact the Steam version's release schedule. Andrzej Blumenfeld, the gameplay lead at Far From Home, emphasized the team's commitment to delivering a polished experience across platforms.

“So, at the end of PC Early Access when we're ready to release the full game, we'll be launching it on PS5 for consoles. Worry not though, this will not affect the ongoing development or release of the Steam version which will come out at the same time,” said Blumenfeld. 

When the game launches, it will support single-player and cooperative multiplayer, supporting up to four-player co-op. In addition, Far From Home has unveiled a tantalizing new trailer for Forever Skies, offering a glimpse into the captivating world that awaits players upon its PS5 debut

The developers did not reveal an exact release date for the PS5 version. However, we know that the game will launch on both platforms on the same day sometime in 2024.
