Square Enix has announced that Octopath Traveler 2 will be making its way to Microsoft's Xbox One, Series X, and Series S consoles. Square announced the news at the Xbox Tokyo Game Show broadcast.

The move marks a significant expansion in platform availability for the RPG. Xbox consoles and PCs were left out when the game initially launched on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam back in February.

Octopath Traveler first launched in 2018, swiftly amassing a dedicated following. The original title sold over three million copies across various platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and Stadia.

Octopath Traveler 2 premiered in February 2023 on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and Steam. The game continues to embrace the unique HD-2D graphics, a captivating blend of retro pixel art and 3D computer-generated imagery, that set it apart in the gaming landscape. In addition, the game features include better visuals, enhanced cinematic cutscenes, and a nicely crafted soundtrack.

The game is set in the world of Solistia and introduces eight new travelers embarking on a thrilling journey into an exciting era. This time, players have the freedom to chart their own path, deciding where to go, what to do, and whose story to bring to life. Octopath Traveler 2 beckons players to embark on a personalized adventure, promising an experience that is uniquely their own.

Square Enix and Xbox did not disclose the exact date for the games launch on Xbox platforms. This delayed release on Xbox follows the pattern of the original Octopath Traveler game, which became available on the Xbox One three years after its initial launch.
