When you’ve just grabbed your copy of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, a few handy tips to get you started wouldn’t hurt. Even if you’ve already had a few runs, learning the hard way isn’t an absolute must. If you’d like to start off at the top of your game, here are the five best Marvel’s Midnight Suns tips for beginners you should know.

5. Making Friends with Everyone Pays Off

The friendship score keeps track of your interactions with individual heroes. The higher your friendship score, the more abilities, combos, and benefits you land. So even if you get tempted to make friends with your personal favorites, don’t. Try to make time and space for everyone, and it will pay off.

4. Explore the Abbey Grounds

There’s so much to discover on the Abbey Grounds. That’s the home of the Midnight Suns. Often, you’ll get back to the Abbey in between missions. The grounds are massive, so it’ll definitely take more than a day to explore them, but whenever you have the time, go out and explore the areas therein. 

You’ll find things like the forge, the yard, and the mirror table. If you exhaust the inside, go on to the outside of the Abbey. You’ll be surprised to find arcane chests containing valuable items like accessories and battle reinforcements, and even uncover mysteries that unlock more content.

3. Strategize Your Team

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a game of strategy, which also means not every character works well together. Feel free to experiment and find characters whose abilities mesh well together and, as a result, deal the most damage against enemies. 

Since you’ll have used all of the characters at some point, there’s no shortcut except to learn and maximize every card combination you have before any mission. It helps to read a mission’s objective and description before you dive in. Then, assemble the best team for that specific scenario. 

You can also hover your mouse over an enemy to learn their weakness. And once you find your groove, just go with it.

2. Pet Charlie Daily

Petting Charlie every day is hardly time-consuming. It’s a pretty easy thing to remember to do every day, especially because doing so helps Charlie grow stronger. Of course, there are a number of items on your to-do list that are easy to forget. 

But petting Charlie will come in handy later in the game when you can summon her during battles to help you fight enemies. You might also want to pet Ebony the cat to gain arcane XP.

1. Research is Key

Research holds the key to gaining upgrades on abilities and unlocking moves. So even though it’s passive, it does come in handy. So each day, try to meet the research requirements that often involve finding artifacts during missions. 

With each completed research requirement, you increase your research level and thus gain new upgrades, advantages in combat, and more.
