Naughty Dog's hit survival horror series The Last of Us is just about ready to hit the silver screen as a full-blown TV adaptation on HBO. Here's everything you need to know about its air date.

What Is The Last of Us?

The Last of Us is a fully realized TV adaptation of Naughty Dog's award-winning survival horror game. Its plot, while keeping rather close to the source, will feature an additional set of characters, settings, and obstacles, all of which will flesh out a single season over on HBO and HBO Max.

“The series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed,” the official blurb reads. “Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.”
